A game of two halves - the first is standard escape room fare, and the second is a little more immersive. I enjoyed the first room overall although one puzzle really frustrated us everything else flowed quite well.
I really enjoyed the second part, but as previous reviewers have said, it is quite cramped, so go with a smaller group if you can. The way that they've managed to use an original feature of a building as an escape room reminded me a lot of the former London underground rooms in Kentish Town and Cave Escape, which are, of course, also in Nottingham.
Bit disappointed with the last part which looked really cool but in reality you were only there for moments before heading on. Could have done with another puzzle or two there - although admittedly it is a bit of a squeeze.
Fab hosting.
Accessibility: I usually tag an accessibility note at the end of my reviews as I'm not the most dexterous due to a chronic illness. You need a decent degree of dexterity in this room due to a couple of physical challenges. They aren't skippable either; everybody has to do them. I'd been forewarned by friends who had previously played and taken some painkillers beforehand, and with some help from my ever-patient partner, I was able to negotiate them (bar one of my fingernails, which, alas, perished) and was super-chuffed I had.
A fun space to explore (and cramped at points, which was fun for a pair, but if your team is more than two or three people god knows how you'd find it). The puzzles were fair and when we missed details they were entirely our fault. The room's reputation probably doesn't do it any favours - it set an expectation that wasn't quite met - but I recommend it.
We love an active escape room and the fun little surprises of Robin of Locksley. It seems like a small gen-1 escape room at first but theres a few mechanical elements which did really surprise us. We wish the game was longer but maybe thats just because its more of a kids game. Be warned though that this game is filthy (not sure if its intentional or just negligence). Do not wear nice clothes and take hand sanitiser with you!
In our talk after the game we all felt this game needed some more puzzles. However, what you do in this game is great fun and the expansive set is great! It's very worth playing.
I can understand why this room gets a lot of praise! the scene setting by our GM Willow was brilliant and the room just keeps on giving. A great variety of puzzles, an unusual setting and a definitive ending make this a must play!
A fun escape room experience although definitely on the easy side. Start in a living room that doesn't seem realistic of the Robin Hood period (there was also a landline phone randomly sat on a table). Some nice transitions but this is an introductory level experience to escape rooms with no story development and a shortage of engaging puzzles.
Always enjoy the rooms here. Some original and unique puzzles to challenge you. Also some clever use of space. The theme of the room was exactly what you'd expect too.
I think we'd have given this one a higher rating if we hadn't had a problem with a broken element. After many attempts and backtracking to check we weren't missing anything, we found out we *were* doing everything right and ended up verbally explaining to the host exactly what we were doing and that we understood what was supposed to happen, but that it was no longer possible. He let us proceed.
There are several really cool elements in this room and it's beautifully designed, although it does feel a little light on content. We also found, after the frustrations in the middle, the ending felt weirdly anticlimactic. I really hope we were just unlucky in our experience.
Really cool room, clever puzzles and great host. Another really different experience. Very pleased to have stumbled across this one!
The location of this game is so cool! We had a ball exploring and completing the puzzles in this game. There were a couple of the early puzzles we particularly enjoyed and a cool surprise later on too which was really fun.
A quick escape from us but it didn't feel quick in the room which is always good (we guessed around the 40 min mark)
Another Gem from Escapologic.
Brill game, really enjoyed it! It was super thrilling to make our way through the game with all of the puzzles and it flowed really well. Parts were a tiny bit linear but generally I really enjoyed and got such a thrill out of the entire thing. The physicality of the room is one of the best things about it, and the way you get from room to room throughout the game is always really interesting
A fairly easy room with plenty of great and fun ideas - the sets looked great and worked well with the theme. A little short for a team of enthusiasts but perfect for first time escapers.
Quite an easy room with some interesting puzzles (reflected in our escape time), I felt it needed a few more puzzles and ended quite abruptly. The location made the room feel a little creepy/atmospheric, a linear room and I would take a small team as you’re all crowded around the same puzzle.
A wonderfully themed experience, I just wish it lasted longer! It is fairly easy but every moment was enjoyable and immersive.
We loved the floor plan of this game - it's a fun, physical game with some quirky puzzles and it's always great to see mechanisms we've not seen before! Theme-wise, there are some lovely nods to Robin Hood but this is secondary to the puzzles and the physicality, which are the real stand-outs. A really great game that we really enjoyed.
Some interesting puzzles and great sets. A thoroughly enjoyable room.
Aother game that just really sang for us so we smashed it (think it was ~30min).
Whoever makes/find props for Escapologic is doing a fantastic job! The room/environment is exquisite and second to none in terms of aesthetic! Enjoyed the experience but found it lacking in content. We didn't exactly hurry through the game and still escaped in 42 minutes. We found a particular part of the game, involving some ambiguous symbols, very frustrating.
The use of space to create an exciting adventure is second to none. It really was such a fun and exciting game to play. Some interesting puzzle elements and reveals that if not seen before, having been a little underwhelmed with a couple of other games at this venue, this cheered me up a treat. Great game! In the top 10 on my list for sure.. for now..
Love this game. I think the story doesn't necessarily fit as well as other themes would as it has potential to have a more fitting storyline but the originality was class. Probably won't experience many rooms similar
Absolutely fantastic game with some really unique touches, props and mechanics. Even though we escaped in fantastic time (with no clues) we didn't feel short-changed we just felt that we connected with the game and it was one of the best games we have played.
Absolutely beautiful room with highly intricate and lovingly-made puzzles. Great craftsmanship seen throughout. Very playful room which kept our energy levels buzzing. Requires ‘out of the box’ thinking for some puzzles. We blazed through the room with almost half the time left on the clock. However, we did not feel short-changed as the experience was superb. Just wanted to add, the gentleman who spoke to us before this room (involved with marketing) was lovely and was knowledgeable on other locations around the UK. Always nice to chat to a fellow enthusiast before or after a room.

Another fantastic room in Nottingham, this was possibly the most unique we have done. Loads of unexpected twists and turns, despite the fact we escaped quickly we felt like we had our money’s worth. The whole place felt like we were explorers! Top 5 room, the best we’ve done at Escapologic as well. Perfect for a team of two.
We really liked this - it's got a real cinematic feel to it and was just really great fun.
One of my absolute favourite games ever! Genius puzzles and I LOVED the physical elements and hidden surprises. You will not be disappointed by this spectacular room!
Cool use of space and some really fun puzzles. Good theming although quite easy I thought
This is good fun - we found it pretty easy (reflected in the completion time) but thought the physical aspects of the game were very entertaining and enjoyed the local theme. Set looks fantastic. One of my favourite Escapologic Nott games.
Really great game! Great reveals, great mechanics, and we saw some things that we have never seen in any other games before.
Incredible room!!!!!
some very inventive puzzles, excellent theming and one of a kind concepts to move from one space to another. utilised the building and the space very well and easily now in my top 5
I think that this is my favourite Escapologic game, it is only missing out on the full 5*s because the game should be begging for more puzzles! That is the only fault, but I can imagine for first timers, this game would be incredible!

I narrowly missed out on the chance to play Lockskey the first time round, when it briefly opened and then closed again due to problems with the underground location (since when it's been completely revamped, so I believe is safe to play even if you did the original version).
Robin Hood is an obvious theme for a venue based in Nottingham, and I'd have expected something in bright primary colours with an archery motif. However, Escapologic's take is a lot more archaeological. The setting is mode...
One of my favourite types of Escape Room is a quest, where the goal isn’t exactly to escape or to solve a world crisis, but one that takes you on a journey
On the 16th December we found ourselves back to take on another of Escapologics devious escape rooms, this time the very fitting for Nottingham "Robin of Lockskey". Our roles in the game were to save the Sheriff of Nottingham from a gang of kidnappers. The team before us was given 24 hours to find the iconic ransom of a golden arrow, they however have failed and left us with an hour to complete the job. We were now in the private office of the Sheriff ready to go on the adventure and search, How did we do? Well, read on to find out.
