Imagine yourself on the high seas during the golden age of piracy. Two days ago your crew boarded a ship with disastrous consequences. Most of your fellow buccaneers were slain in the battle. A lucky handful, yourself included, were captured and thrown into the brig to await the mercy of the ship’s captain.
Suddenly, you hear a crash from above and a lurch. You deduce from the cries of the crew that the ship is taking on water and will sink within the hour.

Firstly we played The Curse of Captain Kraken on an evening when they wouldn’t normally be open - they opened specifically for us, which is always great and appreciated. The game itself was pretty immersive with lots of set dressing, and as seasoned escapers the puzzles largely made sense. Lots of fairly unique concepts or unusual tech that we hadn’t seen before. The flip side was we managed to completely miss 3 locks by either luck or initiative (probably born from having done so many), though the GM did say it’s never happened before - us rather than the game, and she also let us do the bits we missed after to get the complete experience.
Despite this we both enjoyed ourselves, and came away talking about all the fun and unusual things we’d liked (sometimes you come away from rooms irritated about the puzzles or things that didn’t work, and this definitely wasn’t one of those). Recommended.
Really beautiful set with some great features and unique puzzles.
The theming was spot on and very atmospheric and the puzzles were original. Our host could have been more enthusiastic but she did say that she wasn't the usual host which is fair enough as they opened up the room especially for us on a day they'd usually be closed.
We've played around 15 escape rooms together now and although we're nowhere near experts, we do usually escape. But we didn't this time, it was surprisingly difficult. We were allowed extra time to finish though.
The pricing seemed very reasonable and we're hoping to return to play this venue's second room when it opens next month. I thought this room was very impressive, especially as it was the designer's first ever escape room. Highly recommended.
P.S. If you use the toilets don't forget to say hello to the three little pigs on the way.
I just cannot pick enough of the positive tags above to describe this room. From the beautiful location, the warm and passionate owners/GM, the fab theme, incredible decoration and attention to detail, the props and use of tech in the room, the puzzles themselves, and the difficulty level which kept even 2 experienced players guessing. Located on a beautiful farm park with animals, kids activities and more, this room is still in its infancy but blew us away, especially as the design and build is from relative newcomers. Definitely one to include on your trip if you're in Cambridgeshire, make sure to save time to visit the farm and cafe too though! They are opening their second room in September and we can't wait to go back and play again.
Thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this game- can clearly see how much time has been spent by the owners in creating the puzzles and unique interactions with the space. Everything fit beautifully within the theme and there were some great touches that I hadn’t seen anywhere else before. The location is a little out the way but we’ll worth the visit if playing in nearby Cambridge or for a sole trip! They’ve a second room opening in September and I’m sure it will be good too.

For those who want to get together for some games. Try and keep them north of Oxford and south of Manchester but outliers are ok if we all want to do them!
