This review may sound negative as there were some things that let the room down but overall it wasn't a bad room and we did enjoy it, it just didn't feel like anything special & wasn't as strong as others we've played.

Firstly, the theming was strong and atmospheric. However, the hosting was poor, there were a couple of broken props, we felt a lack of direction, some elements were a bit random and the ending came too suddenly.

Another strong room from Crypt X. Jolyon is a great designer and host. We'd been putting off playing this room as didn't have much prior knowledge of the theme but needn't have worried as that wasn't necessary. It was very atmospheric with good theming and puzzles that tied into the theme well. We really enjoyed it.

We enjoyed playing this game to celebrate my birthday. Ruth is a great host and the theming of the room was good fun. It would be good for families and felt achievable within the hour time limit. Some of the set/props weren't great quality though.

Good use of the museum setting. Escaped the first section/room very quickly but found the rest of the escape better paced. Thorough searching was essential and we liked the practical puzzle as it played to the strength/enjoyment of one of our team members.

This is a very thematic room, from the wobbly deck to the visuals and props. It's quite difficult though, especially as a team of two. But we enjoyed the experience and look forward to trying some of the other games at this venue.

This game started off positively in a well themed room with an intriguing method of moving into the second room. But as the experience went on, the set and puzzles seemed to become more tired. There also seemed a lot to be done in the time and some of the puzzles were frustratingly fiddly. Not a bad experience, we just felt it could have been better.

This was such a fun game. We had so many laughs (both at each other and with each other) during the experience, it was great for father daughter bonding.

Unfortunately I cannot remember the name of our host (although I think it began with the letter H), but they were brilliant, the game would have been far less without them.

Thank you. We will definitely return if we're in the area again.

It was lovely to meet Stephen the GM when we returned to this venue to play their second room, Grand Gallery Heist at the Escape Modern. He was very enthusiastic and set the scene well. We also greatly appreciated the heaters in the room on a chilly day.

We enjoyed the unique and clever puzzles but found our observation was lacking. We needed 2 extra minutes to escape with the painting but feel that if a clue hadn't fallen off the item it should have been stuck to then we would have escaped in time. We were also specially told not to remove any paintings (apart from the one we were stealing) from the walls so struggled when a puzzle required us to remove part from the wall - we didn't dare pull it hard enough as we thought it would set an alarm off.

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed this room although with the amount of puzzles involved it might be better suited to a larger team.

Too easy for 2 adults with plenty of escape room experience, we whizzed through it. We clearly weren't the target audience though and I'm sure this would go down much more successfully with families with young children. For this reason I feel I cannot fairly give this game a rating.

I loved this escape advent calendar and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. It kept me eagerly awaiting the next installment of the story and puzzle. And what amazing value for money considering the price of a 'typical' escape room.

Another great quality escape advent calendar from EXIT. I didn't find this story quite as immersive as the Ice Cave but it still kept me interested throughout December. I'd definitely recommend this and am excited to see what's in store for Advent 2023.

Another great room from Crypt X. A seasonally themed room with clever puzzles which kept us guessing. There's a lot to do for just two players so this might be better for larger teams. We found one spatial puzzle impossible to solve and even the host who had created it struggled to explain it afterwards so I don't think it should have been included. Oh and the room was very cold too. But we thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon and were proud that we managed to solve all but one of the puzzles. I look forward to returning to Crypt X when they've opened their new room.

A fun game with great theming and atmosphere. The puzzles were on the easier side but we still missed things which were right in front of our eyes. We enjoyed doing the extra puzzles after we'd completed the main mission and felt proud to have completed them all - albeit with a few clues. The set was cheerful but missing finesse and the puzzles were padlock heavy but this was a temporary escape room in an outbuilding. The hosting was great and I thought this room was a strong start to escape room design and creation from the team of first timers. I look forward to seeing what they produce in the future.

We found this online experience quite frustrating as we could work out the answers relatively easily but it wasn't clear what format they needed inputting in. The answer boxes were just blank with no indication of how to turn our answers into what was necessary to make it load the next page.

Great experience. The story tied everything together well. Clues were varied and clever - often with a twist on what one would expect. Space was utilised well although the first area was a bit of a squash for our team of 6. I look forward to seeing more of what this company has to offer.

The theming was spot on and very atmospheric and the puzzles were original. Our host could have been more enthusiastic but she did say that she wasn't the usual host which is fair enough as they opened up the room especially for us on a day they'd usually be closed.

We've played around 15 escape rooms together now and although we're nowhere near experts, we do usually escape. But we didn't this time, it was surprisingly difficult. We were allowed extra time to finish though.

The pricing seemed very reasonable and we're hoping to return to play this venue's second room when it opens next month. I thought this room was very impressive, especially as it was the designer's first ever escape room. Highly recommended.

P.S. If you use the toilets don't forget to say hello to the three little pigs on the way.

Fun to play with children and great theming.

This was the first escape room game I'd played which takes place over What's App so I was unsure what to expect, but it worked really well. Obviously it's not the same as playing an actual escape room but for the price it was a good way to spend an hour with a friend. I'd recommend it and am eagerly anticipating further games from this company.

Great theming of the large set. Eileen was a very enthusiastic and friendly host. We had a lot of fun. Thank you.

I can't fault this room or our experience there. Ellen was a great host and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you.

Funny and tense. I wasn't keen on the significant use of the phone though (I'm autistic and find speaking on the phone very difficult) and the parts where you had to be silly, but luckily my team-mate was happy to take on that role. I was very nervous that my intermittent poor mobility would cause issues with having to be fast but it all manageable. Liked the use of the van as a prop. Thank you.

I loved the concept and there were some clever ideas and puzzles, but our host sounded bored, some of the props were faulty, the dim lighting in parts meant we struggled to find what we needed to see and I have no idea how we were supposed to solve one of the puzzles. Disappointing.

Our host set the scene well. Great atmosphere and very immersive. Unfortunately though the dim lighting made it hard to see some puzzles, the speech we listened to was very unclear & the sound effects were a bit overwhelming for this autistic player. I absolutely loved some of the clever reveals and had good fun. Thank you.

This concept had such potential but there were just too many red herrings thrown in. Very frustrating.

Loved this room, what an original concept and clever use of space. Hosts were lovely. We struggled to do all that was required with just the two of us but we escaped with a little help from the host. Thank you.

I found this room had a very weak story and just seemed to be 6 separate puzzles. As a team of two we found solving enough puzzles within the time limit tough but we got there.

Enjoyed playing this room as my first with my now regular team-mate. Particularly liked a clever reveal and the puzzle with the direction padlock. Struggled a bit with the casino table as gambling is something I know nothing about so although no prior knowledge was needed I found those puzzles quite daunting. The hosts were great and even gave us an extra 10mins so we could finish our game. Thank you.

A fun experience for our first escape room. Felt very welcome & laughed a lot (mainly at our own incompetence). I even returned a second time (with a more logical teammate) to see if we could escape with even more diamonds as I felt there was still much more of the room and its puzzles to explore. Now I'm hooked on escape rooms. Thank you.
