Escapable Ossett: Titanic

We originally booked for Prank Heist, as we came to play with our young nephew for his second ever room. 3 of the 4 of us had already played Titanic, but the reviewer cannot read a calendar and had booked it for the wrong day. 

Michael was brilliant in finding a solution for my idiocy and making sure our nephew didn’t leave for Cyprus without playing a game. 

The room is brilliant, logical and with plenty to do. Players with a few rooms’ experience will have no difficulties following the hints. 

You need to be able to crawl a little bit, be ok with the occasional loud noise and a little bit of darkness. 

All of the rooms we have done at Escapable are brilliant, and we’ve never had a host who has been anything but brilliant.

Once again, thanks to Michael for squeezing us in and making sure we had a superb time. 

A great take on the Titanic theme, which was maintained well throughout! I loved the use of audio and environmental effects in here to help with the immersion, especially in the second half. There was a good variety of puzzles but not really anything we hadn't seen before in one way or another and they felt quite predictable given the theme. That said, everything worked, there were no issues, it all seemed to be well maintained and the host was fantastic (especially since we had to keep tag-teaming members in and out to deal with the flat tyre we gained on the way here!). There is a small amount of crawling required to move between areas but should be manageable for most people and I imagine could be avoided if needed).

A thoroughly enjoyable romp through the Titanic with a great set build and appropriate puzzles for the genre. A bit of clambering around involved which was fun for us oldies 😂 and great use of smoke/audio to enhance the immersion.

Great hosting from Mike and we're looking forward to going back to play the other rooms very soon.

Great room, lots of different features and sounds along with theatrics. Enjoyed - needed a couple of nudges on this! But escaped and enjoyed nonetheless!!

This is once again, full of original puzzles and a particularly fun one at the end.

However, when comparing the room to the more recent offerings from Escapable, such as Outtatime and Marv the Monkey, you can see the  less techy nature of the puzzles and immersion in the narrative is a little lacking, hence the lower review.

There was also one puzzle that had slightly broken props (they said they were ordering new ones) which caused some confusion to us in the game.

However, still an enjoyable game! 

Interesting game, puzzles on the easier side. Perfect game for families. Even as seasoned players we still enjoyed the game. 

This is the first titanic themed room that I have played so wasn’t sure of my expectations but I thoroughly enjoyed this room. 

It felt like there were a lot of puzzles to do for just 2 players (which I love!) so we were pretty non stop in the room. A good mixture of puzzles that kept us on our toes with some that clicked with us instantly and some that required a minor nudge in the right direction to keep us on track. Also several that forced us to communicate well with each other which we sometimes struggled with!

I would say for enthusiasts this would be quite a simple room but I would still encourage you to play it as it has some unexpected and clever elements to it that I’ve not seen in other games and I’m still very glad I played this room. 

Really nice effects to the game. Seems simple and then gets better as it goes on. Great use of the room.

I always love room that use the natural aesthetics of the building to create a more immersive space. This was a beautifully clever use of the space. Some great puzzles with just enough to do for 2 players without really stopping throughout. Great game

Theming brilliant. Puzzles easy

A good room, with some interesting puzzles in it. We played this one immediately after playing Outtatime which we LOVED, but we by the time we got to this room, we were flowing pretty well, and smashed through it within half an hour, but still it was enjoyable. Aspects of the ship were included, and puzzles were fine, nothing too difficult. A nice mixture of logic, and observation. 
I wouldn't have gone for this theme, but we went for it as we enjoyed the previous game so much, but im glad we did, as it was a nice little game.

A very immersive room, we didn’t realise how quickly we’d gone through it. A couple of original puzzles, and not too difficult.  Host was great as well.

A great room with the drama that seems to be typical of Escapable! Some clever puzzles that made for a really enjoyable room. We'll definitely be back to try their new rooms!

We have played this at the old location and more recently at the new location. 

The game has had a massive overhaul and I would recommend for anyone who played the first version to give it another go. 

Natural features of the building have now been incorporated and these really add to the theming of the room. 

The puzzles are on the easy side so larger experienced teams may escape fairly quickly. 

The theming in Reception is lovely and really helps theme the whole experience. 

Absolutely loved this room at the new location!! Definitely different from the previous game - a lot of really good improvements made 🙂

A fun room that works very well as an avatar room. Nicely themed using the Titanic story as a backdrop, with some nice nods to the film too. Game play progresses well in this mainly linear room and the lack of inventory doesn't impede gameplay as the camera work was good on our game.
Idea for smaller teams and teams new to playing avatar rooms, its well worth playing.
