Cluetopia Ipswich: Crash Landing

During our weekend trip to Ipswich we booked to play Raiders of the Stormy Sea as well as Crash Landing. I love how both the games were very different in the sense that Crash Landing was a game with zero padlocks but they were both great fun. This meant that all puzzles solved here were on an automation system of something opening or something else being revealed. The Spaceship themeing was quite basic but also everything served its purpose and fitted well with the storyline. I found this game easier than Raiders as although there was still a fair bit to do, it was quite linear which was good for a small team (2 of us) as it meant we weren't stood around waiting for one person to solve something before we could move on. There were of course puzzles that could be solved independently and some that were quicker with 2 working on them. Despite there being no padlocks the puzzles were a good variety that required different skills eg, pattern recognition, word and language, deductive logic, basic math, tactile skills and keen observation (without giving anything away). There was a nice bit of adrenaline once more at the end of this game and we completed it with some minutes to spare too.

Brilliant hosting once again as a company, this time from Zophia our games master, and on completion of the game it was lovely chatting to her and the youngest son of the family business who told us more about some of Cluetopia's other ventures.

A unique and fun game with a fun theme. Due to the nature of some puzzles there were moments when not all players were solving at once. Overall an exciting and fun room.

Very fun and enjoyable game that is designed well, more on the high tech side of things with zero padlocks which was cool and unique to find

Booked for two, brought an extra player and they had to pay the price as if it was the two of us instead of three people because it was a walk in extra player and not paid online (£32pp not £27pp) never had this happen anywhere else really disappointed that we had to pay the extra. Especially as we had two games booked. The game itself was ok, some nice puzzles but pretty basic/standard game considering the price compared to others in the UK.

A rare 'lockless room', which is great, lots of high tech stuff that all worked well. Quite difficult, a lot to get through. 

Having played all cluetopias games this one is definitely my favourite. I’m not usually a fan of this theme or games which are padlock free but this one may have changed my mind! Our host glen was fabulous and welcoming as usual. The build quality and immersion is fantastic but hats off to Morgan who has implemented a collection of high tech puzzles which kept us thoroughly engaged from start to finish! Great fun and interesting challenges with exactly the right level of difficulty. Highly recommended and unmissable!

Played as four adults and two kids (9&10) really enjoyed the non padlock idea. Quite a linear room to start annd everything made sense and we enjoyed the puzzles and was kept busy right to the end. Nice theming and fab hosting.

Lots to do, and some nice ideas, but set could have been a bit better. A spaceship is a hard theme to get right, and on this occasion I felt like I was on a ship made of painted plyboard. Although touted as a padlock-free room, much of the solutions required padlock-type answers.  Not that I have anything against padlocks, just contributed to my feeling of "they could have tried harder". 

Loved the theme of the room. Some really good and original puzzles. Brilliant hosting
