This game was "Wow" from the moment the door opened. Incredible set(s) and sound made for the most immersive room I've played so far. It was really good fun and the couple of physical elements were quite manageable for us. Great variety in the puzzles (always happy when I'm not spending all my time working out 3 or 4 digit codes) though if I'm being ultra harsh, probably a little on the easy side. Sad that the site is being closed down and such an amazing game is leaving the UK!
Such fun from start to finish- lots of unique elements and some moments that allowed you to release the inner child! Felt super immersed from the moment we set aboard and loved how all the puzzles made sense to where we were / what we were doing. Easily my favourite at this venue and one of the better games I’ve done in a while!
A beautiful immersive and high tech set and quite a physical journey rather than typical escape room puzzles excellently presented. Glad we got to play before it closes
When we heard this venue was closing, we rushed over before it was too late. very glad we made the trip. One of the most high tech and immersive rooms ive seen, and not a single padlock, key or anything in sight. All automated, and everything worked. A shame its closing.
Most escape room websites tell you how difficult their games are. This one tells you how physical it is, and I was wrong to ignore that. And if this game is 4/5, as the website claims, then I shudder to think what a 5/5 is. There's crawling, climbing, straddling, running around - brilliant fun and, combined with the mental challenges, very Crystal Mazey, but a bit of a shock when you book games based only on the star ratings here and don't pay attention to any details!
The room is unbelievably good-looking and well-built, too. You won't worry that it can't cope with all the physical interaction it demands of you, it's solid and sturdy, and beautifully lit to sell its setting. The production values are among the best I've experienced, it's such a joy to be there, even while you're cramped and crawling and sweaty.
As fun and unusual as it was to be so physically involved, there were one or two details I think could be improved. Despite the lighting creating a marvellous atmosphere, there's a point at which it could make one puzzle not only more legible but easier to spot in the first place. And part of the solution to another puzzle required a small assumption that we didn't feel was logically justified or meaningfully clued, which was dissatisfying. But take that criticism with a pinch of salt - maybe I'm only making it because we were held up on that puzzle for so long.
These are relatively minor niggles I had with an overall great room that offers something a little different to what you'd typically expect.
Definitely an experience - would recommend if you value immersion!
Unfortunately for me, this was a bit of a victim of the hype. It's a good room, don't get me wrong, but I actually think the other room at Broadstairs is better than this one!
This is a very physical room which was quite different, albeit it can feel a bit cramped if you have long legs like me! The space is quite small at times too and it's hard to get fully immersed when you can hear people entering reception for the other room...
The design of the puzzles is good, but apart from one standout one, I don't think the rest is that unique - they are a variation of things I've seen before (especially at Escapement).
Another let down is the videos... they are way too long and inauthentic, and really took me out of the experience.
Gamesmaster and debrief were great though, so can't fault that aspect.
All in all, the sets are great, puzzles are good, but it didn't rank that high for me as there are a few niggles I couldn't get past due to my high expectations. My partner really enjoyed it so maybe it's just me!
A very enthusiastic games master and very insightful. The game was beautifully designed and some fun mechanics involved. I can imagine kids would love this! The puzzles were on the easier side for us but still satisfying as lots of teamwork involved. Probably our favourite of the day in Broadstairs. Definitely recommend.
Quite a unique way of doing a well known storyline. Really fun and lots of different puzzles.
My new favourite UK game after 170 or so. Definitely unmissable.
What a beautiful room! So much love and detail has gone into creating a very memorable and immersive experience. Something for everyone in this ER. Special shout out to Vince for being an impeccable GM. He spent so much time sharing intel and knowledge. It was an excellent experience all round.
The first thing you notice in this room is the exceptional set design and build quality. This is a very different sort of room that focuses on the immersion without compromising on the puzzles. It's clear that Escapement are aiming to raise the bar and we are looking forward to their next rooms when they're ready.
Expectations were high going into this game - we had just completed Quartz (the newest Escapement Broadstairs room) and Atlantis is a Terpeca rated room.
It's very much a game of two halves. The first half is excellent, with some great ideas, and clever styling. The second half felt so much like style over substance - yes, it looks great but the puzzles aren't that original or tricky and there is so so much crawling that it could do with a warning beforehand (the floor has some rubber style surface but this leaves black marks on clothes and it was crumbling which I found very hard on my palms).
The very last section of the game was a bit meh. I won't go into it to avoid spoilers but the only thing that made this section tricky was trying to hear the instructions.
Overall a solid game but TERPECA? Not for me. Do Quartz instead, that is epic.
A most impressive build with plenty of wow moments, theres a wide range of puzzles and lots of team co-operation is required. Great hosting too. Loved it.
This game looked incredible with plenty of variety of puzzles I would certainly recommend but not for the less mobile of the community as it was quite a physical game so make sure you are happy with this.
Absolutely stunning, breathtakingly so. I only would've asked for a few more puzzles but really enjoyed what there was and the set more than made up for it.
The theming is incredibly well done with really clever uses of space combined with some good puzzle design, in some ways it remind me of Immaterium at Escapologic, it's something more than an escape room and halfway to being a theme park experience.
it can be a bit tight in places so try not to go with more than the minimum 4 if you can.
Certainly a must visit. Have not seen anything remotely like this in this country. An incredible amount of work has gone in to putting together a game of very high standard and it really does raise the bar in terms of set build and immersion. Negatives: Found the space quite cramped and the in-game video content over-long.
I think this is the best set I have seen in this country. Jaw-dropping.
We went as a 3 as we have completed a fair few rooms between us and we had to work for Atlantis. I am aching a bit today!
The theming is amazing and we loved that the room is driven by the story. Escapement put a lot of effort into making players feel as immersed as possible.
The puzzles were challenging but flowed well. We loved both rooms here … and the others in Margate.
Great sense of adventure and some really cool mechanics and theming. Bit light on puzzles, but the ones it had were excellent. Our GM was fantastic too - as is always the case at Escapement. All round just great fun and so immersive
Atlantis is great! The theming is out of this world and gameplay is pretty good too. Only niggles were slightly hard to hear audio in the final escape and the videos in the middle are quite long but its an exceptional game inside. The set is right up there with the best!
Absolute blast playing this!! Some really nice design elements that I’ve not seen before and like there other rooms a real premium feel to the whole experience. Great hosting as usual and all round top experience. An absolute must play room for everyone who enjoys this genre.
The Escapement team should be rightly proud of their new rooms and setting, a great team of people who deserve the accolades they’ll receive for raising the bar again. Well done to you all x
There are some amazing wow moments in this game. A lot of effort has gone into creating and building this room. It's not like your normal escape room, it's more of an experience.
The puzzles were straight forward and very solvable.
Having played all the games at the Escapement in Margate and knowing the quality and theming of these rooms we were waiting with baited breath for their new venue the Escapement Broadstairs to open.
The wait is over, we finally got to play the 2 new games Quartz and Atlantis, and OMG …… WOW ….. the wait was worth it and the Escapement team and brains behind it all Lewis and Mica have excelled themselves with these new games pushing the boundaries of an escape room into a whole new fully immersive experience. These rooms are now in my top games in the UK.
On arrival back at the venue we were greeted by Lewis and had a chat and catch up with a drink, which was nice at no point during the visit at the establishment were we felt rushed, and thoroughly enjoyed chatting to Lewis
We then headed into the GMC submarine, the immersive atmosphere starts straight away, and this is exactly how I imagine a submarine to be, soon you are finding truly unique puzzles that are in keeping with the theme. The story line keeps you immersed throughout and climbing out of the submarine into a magical and beautiful set that is hard not to get lost in its beauty we found puzzles that were a fun mix of logic, searching and physical. We managed to find the energy source and had to take it back to the submarine and get back home from the depths of the sea, again this keeps you alert and on your toes with a strong need for team work.
This is probably my top all time game (having played just under 200 games myself and with a team of 3, 1 team member this was only her 4th game, the last team member having undertaken around 50 games)
We were all hyped up after the game and came out for a debrief and chatted with Lewis about the room build with a drink.
I look forward to seeing what Lewis and Micas brilliant minds and talent for building their own sets come up with next, it is clear a lot of hard work and passion has gone into building these new games taking the escape room experience to a whole new level.
This is by far the best venue in Kent, maybe even in the country for all their rooms at both venues being top quality and 5* immersion.
All of the escapement games are really excellent, but we feel this is their best yet, certainly one of the best in the country.
As always the theming and set design is first class, you can see where you are and you feel like you are part of it... the puzzles are varied and totally fit the storyline.
They always make time for a good chat after the game and it is clear their passion is to push boundaries in game design, not just technical or aesthetics, but all aspects including how the dynamics work with different groups .. it certainly works for us... all of their games are in our top ten ... this one just tops the others and we can't wait for their next room !
I've played a lot of escape rooms and this was my first at an Escapement venue. What set it apart to start with was the hosting. We met the owners and spoke for a while about the games we liked and had played. Atlantis is without a doubt in my mind one of the greatest escape rooms you can play. Our group all agreed on our way home that none of the games we have played to date come close to this type of experience. Together we have played over 60 rooms now so I think I now have a worthwhile opinion. It is just formidable with many unique elements. It is easy enough for a first time team and yet occupying to fulfil the entire time. There's also many things I have not seen before in an escape room which means it would be great for experienced teams. We booked to play their other game straight away. I concur with the review from Mia Rabone "You MUST do this room".
INCREDIBLE. The best room in the UK (in my opinion!). You MUST do this room.

After playing many escape rooms and always looking for something different and interesting, this is our new favourite! Extremely impressive set design, and the whole challenge was a lot of fun, involving puzzles that you solved by “doing” and team work. This is an escape room which truly gives an immersive experience and does not feel like being in a themed “room”. Lewis and Mica were great hosts, both before and after the game - very welcoming and not at all rushed. Highly recommend.
