60 minuten

You have successfully passed through all 12 of the black hell gates and are deep in the heart of Egypt's oldest pyramid in Pharaoh Khufu's Chamber. Legend has it this Chamber is cursed and all who remain in it longer than 60 minutes will have their souls removed from their bodies and be destined to guard the Pharaoh's tomb and his treasure for all eternity.
You are the 100th raider of this tomb; the 99 that have come before you are believed to have perished in the chamber though no bodies have ever been found. You have 1 hour to find his treasure and light all the flames of the gods in order to escape; otherwise you will, as those before you, be forced to remain at the Pharaoh's side forever.

Fun but only ok ER in central London - looking a bit dated compared to some newer games and puzzle ideas. Needs the GM to come in to the room for one puzzle if play as a 2 which does distract somewhat.

Having played quite a lot of games recently that aspire to be immersive and story-driven, Pharaoh's Chamber was a contrast and a throw-back to an earlier style of escape room, where the puzzles are front and centre and the theme is really just window-dressing.

It consists of a good sized room (much more spacious and well-lit than an actual room in a pyramid, I'm glad to say). The room and components look good, with some wear and tear but nothing that impacted on the game. Some padlocks and elec...

Outside the room My first visit to Escape Rooms had been such a success that I needed to go back to experience their other room as quickly as possible. In fact, I'd have chosen Pharaoh's Chamber the first time round but the timings didn't work out for us, so I was super excited to finally get to

I just wish I’d played it when it first came out, because I would have been absolutely blown away by it! I can tell it’s got charm, and I don’t fault the room or the team in the slightest, I’d just love to see the creators use the space and create something even more exciting with all the learnings the UK escape room industry has had in the past 8 years. It’s a well-loved site, and I’ve no doubt it can be a top enthusiast spot with a little more TLC.

I love this room, it’s one of my favourites, and yet it’s so hard to recommend. Escape Rooms is clearly run by puzzle enthusiasts, and there’s some brilliant things going on in this room. The (literal) centrepiece puzzle is probably the single best puzzle I’ve seen an escape room. But it’s hard. We needed a fair few clues to figure it out, and I did struggle to see how those less puzzle-minded would have cracked it at all.

Unfortunately, Pharoah’s Chamber wasn’t much more than some reasonably interesting puzzle loosely tied together with a vague theme. For a central London location, this made it all the more disappointing.
