I would like to preface this by saying that we had a really lovely host, and that the clues given were useful and well timed. Despite this, I think that this one-room experience is not all that great. you are greeted with about 20 padlocks, none of which can be opened because the game is entirely linear. Its designed so that the host has to tell the group what puzzle to start on before the timer begins, which in my eyes is a flawed design choice. we were also told the order to unlock the padlocks, to help with the linear nature i guess, but couldve been completely avoided if the locks werent visible from the get go. We got out in one of my slowest times, and despite it being quite early and so maybe our minds werent as sharp as they couldve been, I dont think this was my kind of game.
Tedious one room game, worn out props which made it virtually impossible to complete one puzzle and just generally bland. Not one to spend this amount of money on.
As we have learned is to be expected of Clue HQ this was a fun, solid game. Enough of a challenge to keep us busy (we split up immediately on the advice of GM) but not enough content to fill out the time. Good quality props and screens - just nothing particularly special. An ideal game for a less experienced team of two. Not all puzzle were very well linked to the narrative (but this is often the case with many rooms). Our main complaint was the lack of clarity on one of the clues, which we basically had to be told the answer to simply because the UV markers used were no longer visible. It's a shame as this is such an easy fix but requires care and attention from staff in order to prevent it from happening.
This is a futuristic take with a lot of codes to break. It feels a little heavy on the code-breaking side of things as you don't always get a reward for finding one code before there are still so many more to find just to gain access to the next part of the narrative flow.
Also, the only room I've seen where you get entirely clued on a Morse code line, and where they have to clue so frequently that they already have the text pre-saved in the system. I'd have improved the puzzle rather than adding more clues, but I guess it wasn't an option.
Good tech, with lots of screens, switches etc. but puzzles were a little illogical and overall the game didn't feel like it flowed very well. Overall this was below average compared to most games I've played.
One of the better ClueHQ rooms. Some good tech and puzzles. Too much smoke, not good for those with asthma

I'm a sucker for most sci-fi themes, so with a choice of games for a morning slot at Clue HQ's Birmingham branch I went straight for A-I-9's story of battling a rogue artificial intelligence. Also, the alternatives were their Cell Block C and Bunker 38 rooms which have been franchised to a wider number of locations across the UK, so it made sense to go for the harder-to-find game.
Clue HQ is one of the UK's large escape chains, with currently three core branches and close to a dozen franchise l...
