Cybercity 2049 is an extremely beautiful and immersive escape room.
The theme is a mix of all your favourite cyberpunk sci-fi movies, like The Matrix and Blade Runner. We were greeted by a Morpheus-like man who asked us if we wanted to hack and escape Genesis.
When you begin your journey, you open up so many beautifully designed rooms and discover the super cool and high-tech underground cyber city.
The story is good, the puzzles are fun, and there are also some intense moments where you have to hide.
A really fun and great experience.
Our host was super fun and very engaging in the story.
I can only recommend Cybercity 2049.
This experience was pretty disappointing and hugely overhyped. Heavily tech based puzzles (a couple of which required overrides as weren’t working correctly) poor story development with extremely limited use of an actor. Much better options in Barcelona.
A fantastic set but this felt like an experience that was all style over substance. Puzzle flow was poor and the story didn't progress or develop.
Having read everyones reviews hyping this game up, and recommendations from felow enthusiasts telling me this game is a "can't miss" experience, I have to say, we both left KONG feeling a bit let down. Various pieces of tech and decor were broken (including one key interactive element that our game master had to pop in and walk us around as it was impassable due to "maintenence issues").
The game play itself wasn't anything particularly special or memorable and in many places it was too dark to even see what we were meant to be doing.
There are definitely much more enjoyable games in Barcelona (in my opinion) without the lofty price tag. If you're going to charge a minimum of €140, maybe try to make sure your interactive elements are maintained to a working standard 🤷🏼♀️.
Had been hyped to play this as had enjoyed cyber city on previous trip but left quite disappointed. The puzzle interactions felt quite random and incredibly repetitive - constant electronic interfaces which were frankly pretty dull. We felt it could also have been a lot more intense as actor interaction is left until close to the very end. There were some nice elements to the set and one cool transition.
This is the one we were looking toward to most. Loved Cyber city and had high hopes for their newest offering.
Disclaimer - they had technical issues and meant we couldn’t complete one of the rooms in the game.
Aside from that hiccup, which does happen, we were a little disappointed.
It started off great, tense, tech forward but felt let down by the lack of sign posting (what opened, where to place things etc.). The puzzles weren’t that fun either for the most part. In cyber city you have multiple points of interaction with actors, here you don’t so much.
Didn’t really see the wow moments as seen it done before.
One sequence was great fun and lasted a while, however the ending was a little anti climatic and didn’t feel in keeping with quality you would expect.
Just wasn’t for us and don’t think the malfunction of the room made that much difference.
