Our 2nd visit to Escape Plan and it certainly didn't disappoint. Its not the largest of areas but really well planned out with original puzzles that really fit in with the immersive aspects of the game. I think it would work with different sizes of group and different levels of experience as it uses a scoring system more than an escape time although you do still need to get out. The theme works really well and I think to get the full score is a challenge for most teams. Highly recommend and the best room I have played in London so far out of 1 at Clue Quest and 2 at Escape Plan. The last thing to mention was our great host Sam who really set the scene well and kept us on track near the end where we needed a little direction.
So much immersive fun to be had in this superb room and a plethora of puzzles to keep us busy. This was my personal favourite here at Escape Plan because it was puzzle after puzzle of high-quality, immersive gameplay. An excellent mix of puzzle types and different levels of achievement means that there is something to appeal to everyone.
Sam, our GM, was excellent once again. An excellent room.
We were mostly seasoned escape room players, with a total of probably 50+ escape room between the four of us, and we found the puzzles very smart and engaging, not too hard, not too easy, and there was plenty to do for the 4 of us.
The room worked really well thematically as well. I could tell it was high quality stuff - in some escape rooms I've done, props were all worn down because they'd been used so much, and some objects sometimes felt fiddly or poor quality. We didn't have that issue with Battle of Britain at all!
Besides, our host, Sara, was very friendly and very attentive to our every move in the room. She observed us well enough to assess whether or not we needed clues - and in the end, we didn't need any, but it's great that she didn't give away anything, as I've had that issue with other escape rooms in the past where hosts aren't really paying attention to what you're doing and over-clue you as a result.
I'd thoroughly recommend this escape room for seasoned players looking for a challenge, and we found that the room worked well for 4 people. Less than that and we might have struggled to reach the maximum score.
I think I can safely say this is one of the best escape rooms I've ever done, and I've done many!
Escape Plan's Battle for Britain is a small but mighty escape room that packs a lot into its space. The puzzles are quite challenging compared to their other rooms, and incredibly varied, including logic, codebreaking, physical, and word puzzles. Sarah was yet again an excellent game host, who has a gift for naturally adding a personal touch to her clue delivery. The climax is a unique way to see how you scored, and it's sure to leave you feeling like you've made a difference. I'm already eagerly awaiting to see what Escape Plan's next escape room will be!
This is everything an escape room should be: from the moment the GM starts the briefing to the second you escape through the final door, you're transported back into WWII-era London. The puzzles are totally in-theme, they're interesting and varied, and give you a sense of satisfaction when solved. The story is exciting, and accentuated by clever use of ambient sound effects and props.
Special mention needs to be made to the beautiful "analog" lock mechanisms, which can only be described as high-tech in the most low-tech way possible. There's no anachronistic 4 digit keypads in this 1940s set - just beautiful, tactile, chunky locks that make this game feel like a consistent, complete package. What a delight.
Managed to meet the high expectations from Roll out the Barrel and cements Escape Plan as the best venue in London for me. Puzzles are inventive and lots of fun to solve, plus the meta-puzzle of pushing squadrons around on a giant map is fantastic and well realised. Staff are really great as always - we had Sam who was well up for a chat after. This game is brilliant!
Great room - would recommend. Great theming, great range, good quality. Would like to return and do their other rooms.
You can tell the people who made this love escape rooms! Very original and quite difficult! Thematic and had our brains racking. Had our whole team working in overdrive. We all loved it
Extremely enjoyable - pushing around squadrons on a massive map is a fantastic feeling. Go play, one of the best London has to offer!
(Escape Plan has more than one London location - this is the one in Kennington)
Fantastic room with brilliant GM, lovely location, amazing set dressing and some extra challenges in terms of points (got all bar one) to give you more to do as experienced players. Absolutely recommend.

While Roll Out the Barrel still remains my favourite of their games, Battle for Britain is another string in Escape Plan’s ‘one of the best ERs in London’ bow. It has all the same loving attention to detail, hand crafted props and vast range of puzzle styles and challenges that have made their other games so popular. The slight twist on a traditional ER structure makes for an interesting change to the norm, while there’s also enough satisfying individual puzzles to keep even the most experienced of players entertained. To make the most of the room, I’d advise any ER enthusiasts to play with a max of 2-3 people so you get to see and play as many of the puzzles as possible, while for less experienced players, around 4-6 would make it easier to get everything done. And as a final piece of advice from a team that managed to shoot down 70 of the 71 planes – double check your workings before committing to the final challenge or that last Luftwaffe bomber might just escape to raid another day.
I'd seen this game go past time and time again as a must do game, and being not in London it's taken a while to get to. Well, what can I say we've been talking about this game ever since we did it, and I think my team mates are still in love with the amazing props and equipment this game utilises...
It's always sad to see a high quality game close, but the blow is softened when the reason is to allow the venue to create a new game in its place. That was the case with Escape Plan, whose much-loved first game shut down last summer to make way for its sequel.
Their new game is again set in the Second World War, but this time in Britain preparing for the final assault of the Luftwaffe. Your task is to get into the Operations Room and get as many air squadrons as possible ready to defend their ...
