Cluetopia Clacton

We played today, fun room, Gumdrop our host was brilliant at usual. Plenty to keep a team of four entertained. Some great puzzles.

Really enjoyed the theming of this room and the soundtrack! One member of team was distracted by all the films working out if had seen them or not 🤣

Played as two adults and a 11yr old, puzzles all made sense. We breezed through the start then got stuck on some things by over complicating them!  A good room for all abilities and probably all ages but def has the vibe for those that can remember Saturday nights choosing films !

Our first room in a while and it showed. A very nostalgic, well thought through and crafty game. Definately worth a visit for anyborn between 1975 and 1990 (and for anyone else of course) 🙂 

Great concept and puzzles to go with it. The majority of the game is spent split up which is great for communication puzzles but also felt like it went on a bit too long. As always with Cluetopia, lots of fun and quirky elements to discover too. 

Like a trip down memory lane - loved all of the nods to Blockbuster processes, the jingles, the types of film you could rent etc. Some really clever and tricky puzzles within this one that gave some great aha moments throughout. One (arguably two) puzzles towards the game required external knowledge which felt unfair if you're either of a certain age or not a fan of the required area (luckily we knew it but felt a bit out of place). Otherwise, another excellent game from Cluetopia!

Really enjoyed the start of this game and the creativity of the puzzles that we encountered. Whilst the room is designed to be scary (a few jump scares that can be toned down based on the group) there was definitely enough time given to the puzzles. Another enjoyable experience at Cluetopia!

Great magic room with lots of creative puzzles throughout. Enjoyed some of the quirky elements throughout too!

Some really creative puzzles in this game with lovely nostalgic nods throughout. A decent challenge throughout too!

Excellent theming made this room feel quite nostalgic (for those who remember trips to Blockbuster)! Good, fun room, but for me, none of the puzzles particularly stood out meaning that the room was leaning heavily on the theming to make it an enjoyable experience. 

Enjoyed the variety of puzzles in this room, though the format and scope made it quite intense for us. Quite challenging in places but nothing illogical, so definitely made us feel like we earned our escape!

Mixed feelings from this room. In general, the room was fine. I feel that some of the decor/theming could have had a bit more effort put into it to make it feel more immersive. A couple of puzzles seemed a bit odd and somewhat ‘thrown in’. Some stronger elements to the room but a couple of missed opportunities (e.g. the ending would benefit from simple sound effects as it just sort of ended). I see potential with this room as some of the puzzles have creative elements. Our GM was lovely and attentive.

This was a very tricky room. But really loved the theme. 

Another visit to Cluetopia as a family - 2 adults and one 8 year old.  We hadn’t done a Christmas theme before and loved the theming. There was plenty our son worked out by himself though he has done a lot of rooms and some ideas behind the puzzles we’re familiar. I believe there are two versions of the game and our progress meant we did the expert level, so we were all very pleased with the time we took. Really enjoyable and fabulous hosting as always.

We like Cluetopia rooms, really enjoyed the theming for this one. It was a little trickier in places and I’d say may be not to be tackled as a complete beginner as even I stood and looked round a bit overwhelmed for the first few minutes wondering where to start!

Definitely a room that needs good communication between your team members.

Another excellent addition to the clacton branch of cluetopia. Really enjoyable game with great hosts and original puzzles 

A Mother’s Day trip back to Tricky. Family group, 2 adults , a teen and a 7yr old. 

Enjoyed this room, we’ve played more Tricky games than anywhere else so know to expect high level hosting and wasn’t disappointed. 

Is ranked as one of the easier rooms but it still kept us on our toes and we needed a couple of clues. 

Good theming and story line. Some different puzzles than I’ve seen elsewhere.

A well themed seasonal room with lots to do. All the puzzles are combination based so it may not be for everyone, but it's up to Tricky's usual high standard. 

A very enjoyable game that utilises the 80s theme well in the decor and puzzles.

Only got stuck a couple of times but with a couple of pointers from the gm we were off again.

There were a couple of inventive and unique puzzles that we really enjoyed. Definetly one to try if you're in the area.
