GR8escape York: Return from Wonderland

We didn't have a good experience with Gr8 Escape. Our GM was inactive for the first half of the room, and despite waving multiple times, we received no hints. The room itself is also poorly maintained - a lot of necessary writing has been rubbed off the walls, which leads to a lot of guesswork for the puzzles. The puzzles themselves are also quite illogical, and once one thing is solved, it's hard to figure out what the next step is. I would not recommend this room!

A lot of effort has been put into the decor of this game. It’s looking a bit worn in places, but you can still see the effort that’s been put in. 

The puzzles are ok. Some are original. The issue really with the room is it didn’t really flow overall well. Some puzzles are a bit of a jump in logic or there is no obvious reason to know at least where you should be looking. You just have to stumble across the correct puzzle. 

As the game progresses, the sign posting gets a bit better, so the flow gets better, but still some jumps in logic are required.

The hosting was ok.

Worth playing if you are in York ,looking for something to do. 

Is it worth travelling specifically for this : No.

Nice family friendly room. We didn't have the most enthusiastic host, but still enjoyed ourselves.

There is a lot to do in here and some of the puzzles are lovely. It's not the fanciest room but there are some great fixtures and fittings and some quirky puzzles that require quite a lot of thought.
