This was a story-rich game, with very high-quality 360 images.  It was beautiful to look at, and there was a unique element of being able to see each space from 2 different time periods.

Video conferencing was included in the game.

We really enjoyed one particular puzzle (involving albums/records).  The rest of the puzzles seemed to be very simple puzzle-types, but they were made a bit difficult to achieve due to the challenge of figuring out HOW to do interact correctly, or struggling to find things.  There was a good period of time sacrificed to mindless pixel-clicking all over the screen in a desperate effort to find or interact with things.  And there does seem to have been a glitch (or an accidental solve) at one point in the game, which propelled us forward without ever having solved a particular puzzle. (but the creator says they are working on an improvement here)

There was one element which I liked, and I had never seen it done before: If I clicked to get a hint, the game needed ALL PLAYERS to click that they AGREE before it would dispense the hint.  I thought that was a nice touch.

I was intrigued enough by the scenes and the story to get through the bits of the game which felt frustrating, and I was left with an overall feeling of achievement.

One more note: I played this game for free.  Had I not been offered the chance to play for free, I would never have played this game - due to the cost.  It is being sold (currently) at a price that I find too high for a digital game.

The game looked absolutely gorgeous. The level of detail was great with no pixelization. It was very clear and easy to see everything without giving anything away.

The whole thing is played through a browser and that worked extremely well. There was a couple of times where it froze but we just had to refresh and we carried on where we had left off.

There was a really clever way of flipping between two different things. This was not overdone and worked extremely well on the whole. The puzzles were just right, although the final one was extremely tough and probably needed a slightly better hint. That said, overall a really strong digital game and we had a really good time with it

This was a great game, lots of exploring and a really cool way of presenting clues.

The first 2/3 was tough but achievable and rewarding. Must admit the last 1/3 was deceptively more difficult than it actually was. There was a lot of guess clicking to solve a particularly tricky puzzle.

Overall enjoyable and challenging which is what you want in an escape experience.

Grandfather's Fortune was quite a unique digital game. Not only is the theme of family heritage and memories not often used but it has a very unique game mechanic which allows you to see all of the rooms in two different ways.  Our team is always very determined to not get hints (myself included) so our play time is rather long. It was quite challenging for us at times which was also a nice change of pace. Also, it has a nice little extra of allowing you to have a team photo keepsake which I have never seen before in a digital unhosted game.

This was a really fun, wholesome game. We had a great time exploring the many rooms on offer within the farmhouse, flitting between the past and the present to combine items to make our way to the family’s hidden treasure. There were a hefty amount of puzzles, and we did get a bit stuck a few times! We definitely have a new favourite kind of puzzle, one we’ve actually never seen before (which is unusual given we are now nearing our 200th game) – kudos to the Cari Mysteries!
