This is the second plane escape room I've played, and it suffers in comparison to the other, which was on a real-life plane. That said, one particular piece of tech made this one slightly more immersive, and it is the only reason I've bumped this up to 3.5 stars, as the puzzles themselves were, unfortunately, disappointing.
There are definitely some fun moments, but I must admit I was looking for a bit more - the ending, for example, is a bit odd; I thought we would have something else to do to properly "escape", but we just ended up in the corridor having clearly finished. The story itself didn't make a lot of sense, although I don't think it would take much to make it make As my partner said to me, it did feel like all the Dark Masters rooms were two-thirds of an escape room and al the ones we did seemed to all miss proper endings.
Without the incredible set this would have been a 3.5 star game. Unfortunately a lot of the gameplay relies on searching and finding which was slightly disappointing as we prefer to solve actual puzzles. That being said, the set was really impressive and our GM was lovely.
An amazingly well put together room, surprisingly realistic and the motion was entirely unexpected and very impressive (they do warn you about this before you go in). A lot of searching and a lot of stuff to piece together. I didn't feel the story was particularly strong, in fact, I cant even remember what the story was, but there is plenty to remember about the game. Well worth doing.
An incredibly immersive set that really feels like the real thing from take-off! There are some hilarious moments in here (make sure you do pay attention to the safety card) and some nicely put together puzzles. The novelty of an escape room on board a plane is the real selling point here and it's done incredibly well, with a lot of attention to detail and a lot of laughs.
Very cool set of an actual old airplane cabin. Lots of stuff to like but I got a bit frustrated with how much collecting and transporting of things there was. I prefer not to have to remember to scoop up 20 different things that I've found in room 1 and carry them along a crawling tunnel only to find that we accidentally forgot one and get stuck for a while not realising this.
Probably my favourite of the three Darkmaster games. The video at the start was very entertaining and the game itself looks great with some unique features making the game very immersive. Felt a little underwhelmed by the second half of the game but the first half was spot on
Unique and immersive! Great theme with some nice puzzles. Very enjoyable
So much fun from start to finish- hilarious room with a set taken from a real airplane!
Good mix of puzzles and an inventive clue system too.
Well worth playing!
Loved the introduction of the room and the set was amazing.
My only negative would be the use of using an object more than once which isn't specified when starting
superb set, original and immersive ... puzzles are straightforward, but plenty of them for a small group... highly recommend this room
Such great fun! Loads to look at, search through and find. Set was fab, and the hosts are really friendly. Would highly recommend!
The theming here is great but I am afraid that I thought it lacked gameplay. The puzzles were very standard, nothing new at all. Totally dont get the wire game even after it was explained and the final task was a real anticlimax... I still thought we had loads to do but it was the end of the game and we had escaped. Its the most expensive room around us and I really dont feel its worth the extra money especially as its charged per person so a big team pays an incredibly high price compared to other local rooms. Sorry but I just felt a bit let down as its had such high reviews..
I enjoyed this game much more than Reliquary as it's got a great comedic briefing and is incredibly well-themed and inventive. If you play this then please read the safety card in the pocket in front of your seat, its epic!
Another search heavy room, but as the space is smaller its not as onerous as Reliquary. Inventive puzzles throughout and a brilliant transition make this my fave room at Darkmaster.
Seriously... read the safety card... I'm still LOL-ing about it.
This was a great room - the set is fantastic, the intro is hilarious. Enjoyed the logic puzzle that was thrown in. Went clue free which turned out to be a mistake as we discarded a couple of important things when doing our searching (it is search heavy), but GMs did decide to put us back on track when we got to an impasse - timed well it seems as we then literally made it out at 59:59. Had really good fun playing this room and definitely recommend the venue.
Great little room, love the secret passages that lead you to the next room! Very clever set! Could end a little better, was a bit of an anti climax... (looking at partner questioning, have we finished?)
Another beautifully designed and immensely fun and unique game to play with some delightful humour, slightly curious final puzzle that I wasn't quite convinced about, but that is such a small detail in an otherwise great room.
Without doubt, this is one of the best looking and feeling games in the UK. Unfortunately the puzzles and tasks are as exceptionally weak as the set-dressing and effects are strong. About 70% of what you're required to do is basic searching. A significant time-sink is an almost completely out of context pen and paper logic puzzle. And one of the final answers is essentially guess work. I left feeling thoroughly disappointed at what could have been.
Fantastic room!

I didn’t even notice the joke in the game’s name until the intro began, but if you’re quicker on the uptake then you’ll have guessed that the setting for One Wing is the most budget of airlines. While the in-world plane may be budget, the game itself certainly isn’t - DarkMaster have developed a reputation for their impressive set designs.
In this instance the technology is most vividly on display early on, setting the scene with some dramatic and entertaining effects. Impressive though that wa...
For us, there was a bit too much going on in this game which meant we couldn’t focus on what we needed and ended up missing key things. DarkMaster are certainly up there with the best for their set design, but I think the puzzles left us wanting a bit more.
I didn’t expect to feel faintly airsick while firmly at ground level in a warehouse in Crowborough. But the level of detail DarkMaster has managed to manifest is astonishing
A traditional escape room that is delivered in a flawlessly immersive setting. One of the funniest rooms we have played thanks to the absolutely brilliant flight motion simulator.
