Alan was always someone we could rely on, he’d be at work super early every shift, was always happy to stay late if we needed him to, and if you could look past his obsession with pirates then he seemed like a very normal guy. Unfortunately, he’s not turned up for work two days in a row and he isn’t returning our calls, and we suspect he’s responsible for a very important manual going missing. From reading other reviews, it seems that this ch-alan-ge is not to everybody's taste: personally, we could have a gallon of Alan.For a team of two, there's a stack to do and we were chuffed to get out in under 40 minutes. It's a physical game with some tight spaces and some excellent twists on the piratical theme that gave us a good chuckle but we had a fantastic time in here.Lighting can be a problem in here and I found myself wishing I was wearing headtorch at times so be forewarned if you find working in low light difficult - it's suitably atmospheric and really adds to the immersion but it does make seeing those pesky padlock numbers more difficult!
This is billed as Unescaple`s hardest room, but I feel a lot of that difficultly is artificially inflated from using multiple of the same combination locks in the same space with little to no signposting. There is also one puzzle in particular, which uses something outside the control of the room which means you may not be able to solve it easily depending on outside influences, we had to brute force one number because it simply wasn't visible.
There are certainly a few clever puzzles in here, including one very clever way to get directional lock inputs, but no one puzzle felt hard or challenging. Jumping from getting one set of numbers/letters to another though just felt out of place for the setting.
The walkie-talkie method of getting clues also didn't seem to gel well, in story, this is because it is the only method to communicate through the time portals, however, when you can hear the GMs talking to eachother outside the room, it certainly detracts from the immersion. There was also a point where I accidently changed the walkie talkie channel and had to fiddle with it to get it back on the correct channel, instead of solving puzzles.
The torches also seemed to be rigged (or just broken) to make the second area more difficult and turning it on and off multiple times resulted in different combinations of either constantly on, intermittent flashing or strobing.

SO much fun!! Would say quite difficult just as there are a lot of puzzles to solve in the time, which is great, but I don't think having an extra team member would have helped as the room was quite linear. A brilliant variety of puzzles to solve, great story and theming, and fantastic use of space.
An excellent room as always. There was a lot going on for just 2 people and a LOT of number locks! We were only 4 puzzles off getting out. A great room, but I’d bring more than 2 people 👍🏻
Nice game the only let down was 2 Padlocks were broken within the game, when we played it. The GMs did not have any spares to replace them so we had to shout out the code we thought it was for them to confirm whether or not it was correct
One of the newer rooms at the venue and (IMHO) the best, the story is roughly the same, an agent has vanished into a Time Portal and you have to follow them to find out whats happened, there's a great transition here between worlds and once in the past the theming is absolutely on point with some great puzzles.

Of Unescapable’s games, Alan gives away the fewest clues to its theme - something about finding a missing employee? But there are enough subtle and not so subtle hints in the website details that I don’t think I’m giving anything away by saying this is a pirate themed room - though that might not be obvious when the game begins.

A pirate themed room, but not as you know it. Surprise awaits you when you enter this room, and then you’re taken on a wonderful journey as the story develops.
