Wasn't too challenging for a team of two, but definitely kept you on your toes! It's a mostly traditional escape room, with some interesting tech.
I really enjoyed it and the host was fab - definitely coming back to do the other rooms.
Only thing I would change would be a better clue system, with sound playing when you get a clue, and clues coming up after being typed - but it wasn't walkie talkies, so that is a huge plus!
Probably the Lockedin room that gets the least attention, but super fun nonetheless. Lockedin Edinburgh is one of my favourite venues in the country. Bravo!
4thnroomnas a duo with my 11yo.
Lots to do, but we plowed on through, found the spy -but alas failed on the last little test.
Lots of fun and lovely hosting. We were given a quick tour of the rest of the rooms, hopefully we'll be able to come back soon to do the rest!
One half of our usual team of six played this game and we had a blast! Some fun and original theming and premise, with a few funny in-jokes and the flair and flow which I think we had come to expect from Locked In Edinburgh after already having played two of their other excellent escape rooms. We all agreed that there was *just* enough to do - although one of us was not on form today due to health issues, and had that not been the case it might have been different. I would certainly say that this room is best for no more than three unless you really are beginners or are prepared to have some people at loose ends. For seasoned escapers who want a challenge, two would work best. There was a good variety of puzzles and tasks, with nothing too frustrating, and some good - attentive but mostly hands off, just as we like it! - hosting. One thing that perturbed me (but not my two team mates!) was that there was nowhere where we could see the progression of time at all - so we had no clue how long we had left or how well we were doing. This could be something that is either a pro or a con for you, worth knowing going in I think. The end section was super cool, although a little more clarity would have been nice regarding the timing of a certain task that needs to be done right at the end…I can’t say more than that without spoilers! Overall, though, a really fun, immersive and enjoyable experience! Thanks guys!
We found this room to be the easier of the 3. It was in a much smaller space than the other 2 rooms, but was well themed with some very unique props and set pieces.
We had a great time as a team of 2. Larger experienced teams may struggle to all keep busy for the full game.
This was a really beautifully constructed game in an atmospheric building. Our host was delightful and the game itself was very enjoyable. The final puzzle was something a bit special and the theme was incredibly strong all the way through. We heard good things about Locked In and they did not disappoint!

With Distillery, Locked In continue their exceptional standard of theming and props. Here the equipment used for the room comes courtesy of an actual gin distillery elsewhere in the building, and it looks fantastic.
The largest and most impressive items in the game are sadly purely decorative, though clearly marked as such. A couple of surfaces are marked as suitable for writing notes on with a highlighter, which is a great alternative to a whiteboard or pen and paper.

The Distillery might be the easiest of the three, but it's a nice challenge nonetheless. It looks nice - I mean, it's literally set within the Pickering's Gin premises, so of course the distillery looks like one - and some puzzles were fairly original. Once again, we felt swamped by the amount of things to do (and that crazy-yet-somehow-justified lock count), and I gave up on keeping a live count of my tallies.
