Beautifully-designed room. You're a South Devon unit of the Home Guard, ready to repel the invasion. The puzzles were varied, not too easy to solve and the room was satisfyingly tricky to beat. Our GM was a great host and knew exactly when to give us a nudge. I look forward to trying their other rooms.

Devon Escape- D Day for Devon
February 2024
Overview
We had been meaning to pop back to Devon Escapes for a number of months having previously completed their other 2 rooms and once we had seen that Dan and Lisa from Prodigy had just taken over Devon Escapes, that gave us the nudge we needed to complete the set. We were greeted by Kane who was extremely friendly and welcoming. The reception area is a bit small but comfy where you will receive your safety talk and mission brief.
Room impression
As with the other rooms in Devon Escape, the set design is spot on with the era and the theme. They have done an excellent job in taking you back to the war with old furniture and pictures and portraits very suitable for the era. As the game progressed there were some nice surprises and again, were really well designed.
Puzzles
There were a nice collection of puzzles in this room, with some maths (which I love), observation and some codes. We all got to grips with the puzzles and all 4 of us enjoyed the room. There was plenty for us all to do and often split up into pairs to take on different puzzles to suit our needs. The puzzles all fitted in nicely with the theme of the game, and the ending was a nice little twist which added a nice touch to the finish.
Game Master Clues
There was the TV screen in the corner of the room which would have sent out any clues but we really did find our groove with this room and from memory, we didn’t ask for Kane’s help during the game. There was a nudge at one point when we were right at the end of the game which really did help so huge credit to Kane for keeping a close eye on us and letting us crack on.
Round Up
D Day for Devon is certainly up there with Death on Dartmoor as our favourites at Devon Escape. The puzzles were right up our street and the ending was really enjoyable. We can’t wait to see what Dan and Lisa have in store for the venue as time goes on with their hugely successful rooms at Prodigy. If you are in the area, do pop in and try all 3 rooms, they are certainly with it.
