Congratulations space cadets on making it this far at space camp. However, before you can become fully qualified astronauts at YASA ( York Aeronautics and Space Administration) you must complete one final mission.
On a YASA mission back to earth from Mars your spacecraft’s light speed engines have been hit and disabled by a meteor shower. Your spacecraft is now being pulled towards a black hole in space. You have one hour to restart your engines before disaster strikes and you are pulled into the far side of the galaxy. In order to restart your engines you must find 6 regeneration orbs which are somewhere within the room and install them into your spacecraft's engine.
Only available for 3 to 6 players. We recommend that children be at least 13 years of age. Maximum number of cadets allowed in the room is 6.

Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult in all sessions. We strongly recommend at least 2 adults take part in each team.

Great fun in this very technical spacial room! Quite difficult but we enjoyed the very tech challenges and the fun puzzles. We escaped with 5 seconds remaining, what!
Bitten by the Escape Room Bug: My First Experience in Gr8Escape
York's Space Cadet Room
A friend suggested we do an escape room,
which was something of an unknown phenomenon to all of us first-timers. As we all
used to live in York, off to Gr8Escape we went!
Story
We had to find 6 Regeneration Orbs to
restart our spacecraft's engine to avoid being sucked into a black hole, as is to
be expected of a space-themed room! The task of finding pieces of technical
equipment to repair a spaceship was an apt goal and kept us aware of our
progress.
Puzzles
An engaging mix of physical and
mental puzzles: they weren’t really linear, and so we were free to break off
into smaller groups to do some simultaneous solving.
Mise-en-scène
As this was my first time, the décor and
scenery weren’t things I focused on. However, on reflection, it definitely didn’t
come across as a shuttle or rocket’s engine room or whatever. I’d say it was
more like a child’s bedroom.
Final Comments
This was a fun, hands-on, habit-forming first escape experience
perfect for a larger team!
This was a feelgood room with plenty of puzzles, some of which were reasonably challenging although it's unlikely to win prizes for decor. It's definitely a decent challenge - keeping our experienced team of four fully occupied for a fair chunk of the allotted time.
