A growing list of escape rooms played up here in the NE of England.

Tyne & WearGood fun - probably a bit 'small' for some groups... but fun to play and some decent puzzles.
A good GamesMaster is key
Rubbish game. Did not like this at all. Cramped first room - would be almost impossible for a group of 6.. and we were a 5! Puzzles are very samey throughout the game. It is probably a bit too dark for most groups - we had to use our phone torches which is a huge pain in the ass. Our GM was very weak and quite dismissive of the issues we raised after our escape. The game is in disrepair. I don't think Escape have anyone to actually maintain their games. A lightbulb had blown - but had not been replaced. One of the oddest and stupidest puzzles involved us having to knock HARD on a wall... fair enough... BUT the wall was damaged from so many groups doing the game, the clue on the wall below where we had to knock had been broken (there was a hole knocked through it!) and the GM was adamant that we could still read it...?? No it was badly damaged and we couldn't read the first few lines. The weirdest thing was that in the game - in order to knock loud enough, they provide a rolling pin...!!! I get why this prop is in the game - Sweeny Todd and his pies etc... but requiring groups to literally BASH the sh*t out a wall with a rolling pin...??? Oh what a surprise...the wall is damaged, paint worn away... holes made in other parts of the game... jeez, what a stupid thing to get groups to do...
Other puzzles were disjointed and lacked much 'feedback' to the point we often felt like we hadn't really achieved much.
Such a shame.
Escape are a huge company and are NOT paying much attention at all to these sorts of things - leaving the staff struggling to cope.
This is an interesting concept and one I believe should be reproduced in the venue so that a group of 16 could easily be accommodated - 8 booths, 2 people in each one - and make it a competition... dead easy to do and would be a brilliant 'thing' for big groups.
The game itself is decent enough and will occupy a group of two for the majority of the 30 minute time limit. The puzzles could easily be changed / updated etc as and when required so the lift(s) could be replayed.
The only game I've ever failed.
Poor game. Looks 'ok' on marketing - but poorly lit, frustrating puzzles that require a very simple 'fix' to make them more achievable. Tiny font on blueprints puzzle was a pain - because it was so small it makes you think it is not relevant.
