PIN Escape Rooms 3 - The Cube
Good things: Beautiful room, high quality, no locks, only mechanical puzzles.
Less good things: Puzzles were given through a microphone, one puzzle didn't work, so the host had to fix it, but it stole some of our time. There was no real story, and the host seemed very unexcited.
Host/hints: The host was 5 minutes late, so we waited outside in the rain, and he didn't give any instructions before we entered the room. He seemed very uninterested in everything, but luckily we still ended up having a good experience because the room itself was great. The hints were given through a microphone when we either asked for them or the host decided to give them to us. It was a bit of a clumsy way to do it because it could be difficult to hear what was said through the microphone. Also, we didn't have a timer inside the room, so we had no idea how much time we had left.
Immersiveness: We were not given a story or introduction to the room, which took away from the immersive experience. But the room was well built, so you actually felt like you were in another world when you stepped into the room.
Puzzles: No locks, only mechanical puzzles, which I liked. We asked to skip one of the puzzles because it relied too much on memory, which I don't like. I think it's more fun when you can solve all the puzzles using logic.
Theme/room: You step into a red cube made out of 9x9 red tiles. It's very cool and feels very sci-fi, like the film the Cube. I've tried a the Cube room before in Budapest which had multiple rooms, but this was only one room.
Difficulty: On the website it's listed as medium, which I think is correct. We made it out.
Photos: We were allowed to take a picture inside the room at the end.
Overall rating: 3.5/5
