Contained Liverpool: The Exorcist

This escape room was nothing like I had done before! The thought process behind the whole set up is amazing. The price for the experience is 100% worth it and when I’m feeling brave enough I’ll definitely go back to do the other room!

Not your usual escape room! Our first time at Contained but after today we'll definitely be back. The experience starts as soon as you step through the doors, and our host Sean was fantastic giving us the story and, setting the scene,

The room is themed really well and the clues and puzzles were testing but fun. There's help available if you need it (as well as light).

Not one for the fainthearted as there are a few jumpscares but we found it to be creepy rather than scary. 

It's quite a linear room where  you solve one clue before moving on to the next and not a padlock in sight! 

We thoroughly enjoyed it and are already plotting when we can do Snatched.

This is the first game we have played without the usual padlocks etc so took us a little to get used to but once I was in the swing of ut I absolutely loved it. My daughter was scared so she was annoying me as she kept jumping and grabbing me hahaha I really enjoyed it absolutely loved it amd Sean was great deffo be back for snatched my daughter can sit and wait haha loved it xx

Definitely opt for the scarecam option! Some priceless memories there! 😂

This game was genuinely incredible. 

We laughed, screamed and jumped our way through it. 

It was a linear game but was done so well. Every puzzle added something to the story. We were stumped at first with their not being a single padlock in the room, which felt alien to us, but it was just din so brilliantly. 

No spoilers, but some of the effects in this game are fantastic and unexpected. Our games master was fantastic, helpful and really added to the whole story. 

It’s expensive compared to others, yet it still feels like value for money because of the quality of the whole experience. 

Some of the puzzle had you thinking outside the box, but made total sense after you figure it out. 

The scare photos were a nice touch too, and a hilarious keepsake, haven’t seen this done before which was well worth the money. 

This was a genuinely clever game and we can’t wait to come back. 

The game itself was ok, some good ideas but sometimes missing logic or signposting, but unfortunately the guy that ran our game was just straight up rude. The way he spoke about escape room enthusiasts, basically calling them entitled idiots was appalling. We've played a few so kind of took this to heart, but also....Don't bite the hand that feeds you.

A fantastic escape rooms for those who are a fan of horror! 

The set and props were all great and in keeping with the theme, and it was a perfect mixture of suspense, horror and puzzles. 

The owner was very passionate and an absolutely brilliant games host, good at sensing when to clue, and doing so without robbing us of any sense of achievement by clueing us too much. Just the right kind of nudges.

The only reason I’ve gone 4 stars is that there were a few parts of the room where I do genuinely think we’d have had no clue what or how to do something without the games master, as links/signposting were sometimes not the clearest. 

I liked how this horror room didn’t just rely on cutting the lights mid-puzzle or scary noises now and again like others do… Without revealing any spoilers, you’ll definitely be thrilled by just how immersive this room can get! 

The host was absolutely brilliant! The construction of the room and puzzles was very impressive with hardly any locks. Not a 5 star because there were a couple of moments of frustration that we wouldn’t have understood without the host’s assistance. We did have to guess a few times on the puzzles. A few terrifying moments but perfect if you like spooky films. 

It's fun and the owner is obviously passionate, but some of the puzzles are a bit illogical or come out of nowhere/are hard to see - I think the owner knows this as you often quite quickly get unsolicited clues to tell you where you need to be looking. Good theming too.
