Shakespeare's newest play is set to open at The Globe theatre tonight, the crowds have gathered and King James himself is in the royal box. The word is the play has been promised to King James for his birthday.
To keep the script under wraps Shakespeare kept just one copy of it and an hour before the curtain goes up, it's gone missing! You and your team must find the script before the King finds out and calls for Shakespeare’s head!

As a fan of Shakespeare's plays I definitely enjoyed all the references to his work. This was definitely on the easier end, but I think would be a great one to do with kids who are learning about Shakespeare in school. Nicely done sets, and a couple of clever elements we haven't seen before.
The room has been designed specifically to sail on the Shakespeare's "brand", so to say. So, it feels a little contrived as it is basically an excuse to attach the label Shakespeare to a local escape room.
That being said, the game was pleasant enough, and while there were some moments of uncertainty (as the narrative and puzzle flow were not intuitive at times), our game master was quick to react. We had a lovely game master who cheered up us when we exited and said what she liked about our team (which I find so much better and more engaging than the usual approach of asking what I liked about the room when I've had zero time to actually think about it)
The puzzles weren't very logical and it wasn't always obvious which padlocks the puzzles referred to. I did enjoy the Shakespeare element but to me that's the only thing the game had going for it

It looks authentic and has a great atmosphere created by the lighting and the references to Shakespeare that continue throughout. The puzzles were very straightforward and not always logical, to be honest, so this wasn't one that we really gelled with.
Saying that, we really enjoyed the theme and a lot of effort has been made to include some nice nods to the Bard.
A fantastic host here - one of the most enthusiastic, friendly GMs we have encountered.
This room works very well as a remote room, but in real life it may be alittle mundane. It is well themed and the puzzles are clear to see via zoom. The inventory isn't over used, but there are decent images in there if you want to refer to them and out avatar (Tom) was very good at clearing out what had been used. Add in a couple of nice 'ooo' moments and you've got a good remote adventure.
Everything we solved made sense and nothing felt like a logic leap and they've resisted the urge to include too much searching. My favourite of the three remote offering from Escape Live (so far).
This was a good, fun game. A bit riddle-y for me. I prefer physically achieving things, rather than reading > find a number > open padlock. There were also some nice surprises in this room though! So I'll definitely go back. I thought the story was good and the puzzles fitted the theme, so overall I would recommend this room. It's also a good starter one you could perhaps do with kids. They have designated it a level 3.5.
