We loved this very different escape room experience where you explore a real museum after hours.  Because they don't want you to go round taking apart museum artefacts there isn't much in the way of searching to do but instead you get to explore different rooms and interact with "exhibits" especially integrated for the escape experience.  We found the puzzles fun and the story compelling.

The game is probably best suited to smaller teams (we did it as a 2).  It's designed for you to stay together throughout so might not work so well for larger groups.

This room had a huge amount of potential but ultimately we were left quite disappointed.

The puzzles were very long, and "samey", by that, I mean once you know what you need to do, you have to do the same thing again and again in order to solve it. Because it was set in a museum, there felt like a lot of red herrings, which completely threw us off. Items in desks which looked like personal belongings, which we didn't know whether they were part of the game or not.. lots of museum props you're unsure whether you need to use to solve... As the scape game mentions, there is an element where you're outside, which we initially thought would be a really interesting element, but I was hugely disappointed that it was pretty much just to take you to another room. There are a LOT of steps to navigate too!

What was really frustrating was the communication system with the GM. It was through a walkie-talkie system, which does not go well, especially when you cannot hear what they are saying. We could even sense that the GM was getting quite annoyed having to repeat what they were saying.

One plus point though was the views you get from the top of the tower over Canterbury.

We had a high expectation coming into it because of the setting, but really didn't enjoy this compared to their other escape rooms.

I'd recommend doing this as a team of 2. We had 4 dominant, experienced players and there just wasn't enough to do. The setting is amazing, but the puzzles are sparse and lacking. Cool experience but didn't live up to the hype for me.

Probably the most family-oriented room at Westgate towers, this is another excellent room that makes full use of the towers' museum and history of the building. all of the puzzles are appropriately themed and make great use of the setting. A word of warning - as mentioned in other reviews, there is a section of the experience that requires the use of a winding staircase so take that into account when going to your experience. Otherwise, a fabulous room!

Great game that makes use of the museum when its closed, nice bit of theatre to start you off and some inventive uses of the existing exhibits. Great finale with some great effects too. Beware tho, there's lots of steps to negotiate, so wear good shoes.

Ever wanted to be Robert Langdon, running around a museum solving puzzles and codes?  This is an actual museum where puzzles, props and codes have been incorporated to create a fantastic experience.  This is the closest you may ever get to a real life "Da Vinci Code" Experience, just be careful on the steps!

It's was good but I felt something was missing.

The three games at Escape in the Towers are notable not just for their historic setting but also for how very different each of the three games is. All are located in the Canterbury gatehouse towers, and each situated in a different part of the building's history; unlike the other two, Magna Carta Murders takes place in the main exhibition area, which you’ll have seen before if you’ve ever visited the museum. It's split across multiple floors, so be prepared for quite a few steep stairs to climb...
