100% recommend this room! Fun and challenging games and puzzles! Well thought out and great set.
I loved the step for “little people”. I’m only 4’10 so sometimes struggle in rooms. This really made me smile
Our host Andy great! Very friendly and made sure we had a great experience.
We hope to be back very soon
A bumper 75:00 minute game and I decided to play solo. I had a blast, great puzzles that all made perfect sense, a mixture of classic and tech and Jenny is the best host! We had a lot of fun laughing at me talking to myself and the clowns on the walls. A cheeky surprise in the game was brilliant fun and i'd highly recommend this game to beginners and enthusiasts alike.
So much fun, from start to finish.
Jenny and her aunt were an absolute delight. Very engaging and a lot of love went into the room. It is quite linear so would work well as a two. Some fun child like puzzles and would recommend visiting.
Brilliant from start to finish, a great room for all ages, and unlike some rooms, it wasn't linear, so we could be doing a few different activities at the same time - this is especially important when you have a family of 5 who are all eager to join in. Host Jenny was welcoming and enthusiastic. Lots of things physical (but not strenuous) things to do, rather than just being puzzles. Set design was fabulous. Plenty of unique features, definitely one of the best rooms we've ever done. Can't wait for your next room!
Jenny has done a great job with this place - all the fun of the circus and more! This room focuses more on physicality rather than logic so less padlocks and brain-wracking puzzles than the typical experience. Looking forward to seeing what more there is in store for Clue Collectors!
A gem of a game with a lot of everything that we like: padlocks, cute-as-a-button decor, plenty of wit, a personalised approach from an owner who loves escape rooms and, most importantly, plenty of lovely puzzles. It's a 75 minute game so there is a whole host of things to do and nothing in there felt superfluous or arduous. Sometimes, those small touches make such a difference and one small thing that really stood out was just how immaculate this game is - yes, it's a fairly new room, so wear and tear won't have kicked in too much yet, but this room is sparkling clean and the attention to detail in the aesthetics is absolutely spot-on.
It bodes well for the industry that enthusiasts like Jenny are building rooms like this. The carnival theme doesn't leave families out but the plethora of puzzles means enthusiasts are catered for and Jenny's evident enthusiasm for delivering teams a fun time really does go a long way in recommending this room.
The puzzles are pretty good but the most enjoyable bits are the unique “mini games” (to avoid spoiling much) that fit the theme very well and are just generally very fun. The owner was lovely and the set was very impressive for a first room.
A great game which we really enjoyed. Lots of different puzzles and games. There is something for everyone. We have done lots of escape rooms and this one is up there with the best!
Always interesting to go to a place that has just opened. For a first attempt this is a really impressive and fun room. It's 75 minutes and absolutely packed with games and puzzles. Also some puzzles we'd never seen before which was good. The main thing for us was that this is a great room for kids. It reminded us a bit of Marv the Monkey (Escapable, Wakefield) in some aspects, and although that might have been our favourite over this, there was a part at the end of this game that the kids, and us!, absolutely loved. I can't reveal exactly what it was, but it's something that I can't believe anyone else (to my knowledge) has done yet, at least in the U.K. I did read that a place in Greece did this thing. But yeah it was so much fun and raised the whole experience for us. In fact the kids were so distracted by this thing that we forgot the time and ran over.
This room doesn't have a massive footprint but somehow it feels like it's bigger than it is.
Also this room had a collection element with a bag that you put things in, which we always really like. Also great hosting.
My only criticism of this place is that I struggled to hear / understand what the GM was saying, they definitely need a better sound system. And I struggled to see things properly in certain parts. This could be me, but it shouldn't be a hearing or sight test.
Worth noting that this place is only a 15 minute drive from Compendium Escape rooms in Bury, so could easily be combined.
We went to a cafe just across the road simply called "That Cafe" it's not exactly Micellen starred, but fine and surprisingly good value.
There is a carpark just around the corner (Taylor street) where you can park for 3 hours and it's free, which is amazing in today's world, although it is fairly small.
This was great. Such an enjoyable game that had so many different elements that were bang on point for the theme. The mixture of mental and physical challenges was so well conceived and executed. Would suit families with kids but was challenging enough for us experienced 50+ yrs olds. One of the best games we've played and Jenny was a terrific host. We are really looking forward to the new game they're building. Highly recommended and a must play.
A great room with very welcoming and friendly hosts. The room has aspects we have never seen before, and some funny quirks. Would definitely recommend.
Carnival Crisis is an absolute blast from start to finish, a wonderfully fun, puzzle-packed escape room that delivers on both quantity and quality. The game is loaded with clever, logical puzzles that rely heavily on observation, making it a very satisfying experience when those “aha!” moments hit. Personally I found it not overly difficult, but it offers plenty of delightful “kick-yourself” moments that reward lateral thinking.
The room itself is spacious, well-designed, and full of charming touches that really sell the carnival vibe. There’s a lot to do, which justifies the generous 75-minute game time, and the pacing feels spot-on.
The owner is absolutely lovely and clearly passionate about the experience they’re building. With all the glowing reviews recently, this is definitely a venue to watch!
The only thing holding it back from a full five stars for me personally was the lack of music and sound effects during the game, which affected the immersion somewhat, though I understand this is something the team is already working on.
That said, this is a fantastic game that I’d happily recommend to anyone, whether you're a seasoned enthusiast or just getting into escape rooms. A great experience all around!
We thoroughly enjoyed playing this game and 100% recommend it!! Wanted to give a full write up for this one as it certainly deserves a shout-out! So here goes...
The room is full of vibrant carnival-themed decor and has a lovely handmade charm, with plenty of attention to detail. It’s clear a lot of thought has gone into how players move through the space, and there are some really nice touches, including a nod to the local area’s history. Visually, the room feels fully on theme and immersive. The only thing we felt could elevate it even more would be a bit of added audio to bring the atmosphere to life even more.
Playing as a team of 2 is certainly doable and we never felt rushed but were definitely kept busy throughout. The difficulty level felt fair, with a good mix of linear moments and sections where we could divide and conquer. It would work well for smaller or larger groups too; and it’s family friendly! There was a great balance between more traditional thinking puzzles and fun, physical tasks. One part in particular was really fun to do (you’ll want at least one person in your team who’s up for a physical challenge). The signposting throughout the room was subtle but effective, helping keep us on track without being too obvious. There are some clever and satisfying moments in there that make it a very good room.
Our game master, who also happens to be the owner, was absolutely brilliant. She gave us a warm welcome, clearly cared about the player experience, and was attentive throughout. We only needed one clue, which was timed perfectly. She is an enthusiast herself, and it shows in how the room has been built and how the whole experience is run. Feedback was both welcomed and encouraged, which is always great to see in a newer venue.
The venue itself was easy to find and felt welcoming. There’s parking nearby in a public car park. Just be aware that there’s no step-free access as the room is located up one flight of stairs.
Overall, we definitely recommend!! Whether you’re local or fancy a bit of a road trip, this one is well worth checking out. Can't wait to see what Clue Collectors come up with next.
We had an incredible experience here as a family of 4 at this new escape room. One of the most entertaining and engaging rooms I have ever done. The host was fantastic and kept it really interesting. We can't wait to come back when they add more rooms
Outstanding fun room, packed full of ingenious puzzles. The owner, Jenny was very welcoming and passionate. She has put her heart and soul into creating a brilliant experience which is an incredible achievement considering Carnival Crisis is the first ever room she's built.
A must play room well worth going out of your way to play, we can't wait to return to play their new room later this year
Absolutely Brilliant Experience – Highly Recommend!
I can't recommend this enough! From start to finish, it was packed with fun and excitement. The theming is absolutely fantastic throughout—every detail has been thoughtfully crafted to create a truly immersive experience.
The puzzles are brilliant, with a great mix of challenges and a few clever twists I’ve never seen before. There’s a lot of variety, which keeps things fresh and engaging the whole way through.
A special shoutout to Jenny, who is a first-class host. It’s clear how much time, care, and attention to detail she’s poured into the experience. Her passion really shines through and makes the whole thing even more enjoyable.
If you're looking for a memorable and well-designed escape room (or puzzle adventure), this is the one to go for!
Honestly can’t recommend this enough.
There’s so much to get through so it’s great for enthusiasts. Its a 75 minute room, so there are plenty of puzzles to keep bigger teams/ enthusiasts busy.
The theming is fantastic the whole way through, and the puzzles are brilliant , loads of variety, and a few I’ve never seen before including some physical games too, and all perfectly in keeping with the theme.
Jenny, who runs it, is just lovely. You can tell she really cares anout having a great experience and has put her heart into the whole thing.
Already excited for the next room to open! ❤️🌈
