West Kirby Escape Room

A hidden gem of an escape room. The host adjusts the difficulty of the game depending on the experience level that you tell them when booking. The game consists of a good mix of traditional key and code locks, with a good amount of technology based locks and puzzles. I would recommend this room to others.

This doesn't appear to be high-tech at the start, but things aren't always as they seem. Great mixture of logical, physical and tech puzzles. It's not a big set but the decor is beautifully constructed; if you have time left over, ask about the origins of the venue.

Highly recommend!

+ West Kirby is super cute so you'll get a great day out of it 🙂

Played this room for the big ‘100’ - Gavin has done a fantastic job to maximise the space he has in this former corner shop. Great theming and some real surprises that we had not seen before. If you love dinosaurs (and a certain dinosaur related franchise), this is an absolute MUST for your list.

Really enjoyable room. Best room on The Wirral! A lot of effort has gone into this room. Very clever use of space. The owner/games master is a great guy. Highly recommended

I always get excited when the Instagram algorithm throws a new escape room at me but then I’m always a bit nervous when it’s just a single room made by what looks like a first timer.

Those nerves were well and truly misplaced. Speaking to Gavin, the owner, before we started and it was clear he had put a lot of time and effort into creating the room.

The space was used to great effect and the room flowed well throughout. The decoration in the room was spot on and none of the decorations would be confused as part of a puzzle.

The puzzles themselves flowed beautifully from one to the next and we never struggled to find the next thing to do. Every puzzle was well put together and made perfect sense. There was good variety between the puzzles and everything worked well. Technology in the room was used to great effect and nothing overly complicated for the sake of it.

Dinosaur fans will have a great time picking up loads of references to a certain franchise but there were also a couple of nods to another that were fun too.

This was more than worth the trip out to West Kirby and there are plenty of places to grab a coffee and a nice lunch before and after. It’s a shame there’s no more room in the building for a second room because Gavin has done an amazing job with this one and we’d play another he’d designed in a heartbeat.

Can't recommend this place enough, for a first room they've done an amazing job.  Only been open a few weeks. The person I was with, it was their first ever escape room, so it was a relief that it went so well. And surprisingly good value ATM.

You don't need to be a fan of the films or into Dinosaurs. Loads of great puzzles and good use of very limited space. Some great use of tech, combined with some older style stuff and family heirlooms. What I liked most about this room is that I felt the signposting worked very well, and there was never too long a moment where we didn't know what we were doing.  Important to note that they don't have a toilet, but it's a short walk from the town centre. It's easy to get a train here from Liverpool Lime Street, and West Kirby is a nice place to visit, with the beach and you can walk out to Hilbre Island. Although we spent most of our time there sat In Weatherspoons.

Recently played this game and the first thing I have to say is that the theming of the room and the props are some of the better ones I have seen when playing escape rooms and adds alot to the immersiveness of the room altogether.

The host was excellent, very friendly and ensured that my teammate and I understood basic escape room rules aswell as the locks inside the room which was helpful as my teammate was a complete beginner.

Overall, I would highly recommend this family-owned escape room if your'e in the West Kirby Area as the sheer enthusiasm from the owner is enough to keep you excited to get in there.
