In an ancient tomb, buried deep below the sands of the Valley of the Kings, Akhenaten sleeps. In his lifetime he was Pharaoh of all Egypt- he had the power to raise the sun in the sky, and bring the Nile floods to quench his parched domain. He was a living God... But, sooner or later, living gods die.
Stories have existed since the dawn of history which tell of the treasure Akhenaten was entombed with, and which he still guards to this day. The same stories also speak of a terrible curse, worked in ancient magic by the priests of his long-forgotten cult, awaiting daring explorers and greedy grave robbers alike.
That being said, curiosity- or the taste for gold- have got the better of many adventurers before now. None have ever returned. The previous person to enter the tomb was a Professor Thistleweed, from the British Museum. Unfortunately, he also vanished without a trace. We need you to follow in Thistleweed's's footsteps and find out what happened to the hapless professor. He was an avid diarist and made extensive notes on... Well, pretty much everything. If you're lucky, he may have left something to guide you.
Now it's down to you and your team of plucky tomb raiders to brave the fearsome traps, the feats of cunning and the mind-bending puzzles which stand between you and Akhenaten's tomb. Be the first to emerge victorious! Fail, and you might just find yourself trapped in the tomb for another four thousand years...

immersivfamilienfreundlich
Really enjoyed this room with my 12yr old son and his friends. Lots of content, covering pretty much everything you could possibly imagine in an Egyptian tomb-raiding adventure, and kept all our team pretty much non-stop busy for the whole hour.
There's a fair amount of tech, which is all integrated well and provides a clear purpose - it never feels like they've just added tech for the sake of it (and, it all worked well!). There's no single "wow" center piece, but rather a series of solid, satisfying set pieces that accompany story beats which mark progression though different areas of the game.
Theming is good - lots of large scale statues, walls adorned with hieroglyphs, and some archaelogical tools that need to be used. The puzzles are mostly searching, object association, combination, and usage - there is very little text, and no tedious "hieroglyphic" codes to be deciphered.
There are no TV monitors in the room - the game timer and clue system is handled via an iPad which can be carried around with you. We made use of a few clue requests, which were very quick to be replied and quickly put us back on the right track.
I wouldn't say it was ever scary, but there are a few moments that my team shrieked (with surprise, or excitement). And I guess (what with this being set in a tomb in which an ancient king was buried), there could be some content that might put off the incredibly squemish. But otherwise, totally family-friendly.
I really enjoyed this room wonderfully laid out and a real challenge, some of the ideas used in this room to obtain information is incredibly original. Again this seems to be a theme with the Technology-based rooms , it doesn’t take a lot for the tech to fail. And leaves me wondering whether the technology is even necessary. Fab room though !
You know I love a temple game, and this had plenty of the temple-y vibes. The puzzles were cleverly on-theme all the way through, with some really nice use of unexpected items. This is a quest, following in the footsteps of a lost explorer, so it mixes in fun, modern tech, as well as some mythical magic.
