Puzzle Card is exactly what it sounds like: a birthday greetings decorated with a mini sequence of puzzles for the recipient to solve. Their first card, which I reviewed here, themed its puzzles with a simple ‚escape from the mysterious room‘ story; this second one is framed as finding the codes needed to unlock a safe.
As with the first, it’s a few minutes diversion at most for a puzzle enthusiast. This one is maybe a little more challenging than the first though: where that one gave quite explicit instructions on what you were looking for, with Crack The Safe the first puzzle is working out how you need to combine the various clues. In other respects the two cards are at a similar level, though Crack The Safe involves less observation of small details and more working out how to combine the clues presented. There’s little danger of anyone getting hopelessly stuck though, particularly since the multiple choice format used on the webpage for you to submit your answer gives a big push in the right direction.
If you’re deciding which card to give to someone, the original Escape The Room card might be slightly more accessible for someone who hasn’t played an escape room before; but otherwise Crack The Safe is the one I’d suggest.
