While the premise of the room was fun, and we did still enjoy it there were several disappointing factors

1) the room was too dark to see where to input the codes on the locks (this room does allow you to take belongings with you - I would have been lost without the torch on my phone)

2) when at one point we did result in asking for a hint (you press a button to gain a hint - which I do like) it took a long time for for the GM to get back to us and when we completed the room - you find an object rather than the code to get out, he didn't realise for a while - as he said it was only when he saw us all gathered by the door that he realised we were done - I didn't think that I'd be too tall at 5foot 3

3) the room itself has been trashed in the past (torn wallpaper etc) at the end the GM mentioned that a kids party had been in previously and wrecked it (including throwing things at the lights and breaking one - see problem 1) - I can't help but think this is down to problem 2 - they don't keep an eye on you in the same way I've felt other rooms have - where I think had you started to break things they would have been onto you and told you to stop (or kicked you out)

On the plus side - the whole collecting pieces as you solved each lock to enable you to open the final lock was good and unique - and I liked the fact that you did end up having to go back into the first room after you got into the second to get further locks but it was obvious when you had to go back out and that they couldn't be done until you had opened the door to the second room

I did really enjoy this room - and the first part brought back a lot of nostalgia for the 1980s, with some of the props/puzzles being ones I had owned myself when younger

The game itself is very linear, and I think probably would have been better with less people (2-3 I think would work fantastically with the room)

My only, slight, criticism is with the first puzzle (which you need to move on - despite us finding the instructions for the second you need an item locked away to complete that puzzle) is it required a sound instruction, which appeared when you pressed an item, because of the background music (again fab 80s music) I had pressed the item thinking it was needed but couldn't hear it - so when the GM gave a hint (to say I had been right) it took several presses with the item against an ear to hear what was said - maybe the item needs new batteries, or the background music could be lowered

A slight twist on the 'escape' as you are looking for an object rather than escaping the room, the gameplay around the board worked wonderfully and I liked the fact that the only way you will get a hint is if you actually ask for one.

One puzzle towards the end we completely overestimated the difficulty and missed the obvious but in general the puzzles made sense and were logical.

As this room will be ending soon, to be replaced by a new one, their midweek offer makes it a no brainer to try if a family are wanting an introduction to escape rooms

Fantastic game, complete with some special effects which added to the story, required some communication skills within the team to reunite with each other

The only game I've come across where they leave a personalised souvenir in the room for you to take home with you

Definitely enjoyed this one, was a little trickier than the other one we'd done here and each time I thought we'd got out we were in another room, so I was kind of expected another room when we actually did escape

Each puzzle fitted with the theme which was good

This one was the first we had tried and worked well with a mixture of puzzles suitable for the various people in the group (1 a child)
Had to be slowed down at one point as were able to solve a puzzle without cracking the lock (so a hint came up on how to do the lock - but as the GM said afterwards he did that because he could see what I was doing)
A good introduction to escape rooms
