This was ok! Lots of work has gone into the materials inside the envelope, nice quality and nice variety. There are 9 answers to get from out of the materials but each item has one answer and then it's done, there is no cross referencing between them. The puzzles were easy enough and we had to revisit a couple. A nice way to spend 40 or so minutes.

Admittedly I played this game solo, which wasn’t the ideal gaming environment. But as the game touts itself as being suitable for 1-8 players, I figured I’d give it a go.

I recommend that anyone who plays The Deceit goes into it with a decent sized group of solvers with a diverse set of brains. Maybe all you need is a Chunk in your group (to hearken back to my escape room Goonies archetypes theory) – a wildcard who can make those spurious connections.

I think The Deceit needs extra signposting on around half of its puzzles. There’s a lot there that requires players to trial and error their answers and methods in order to stumble into the correct answer, which was frustrating in some cases. It’s a shame as I thoroughly enjoyed The Missed Flight.
