A rather unique game as there are so many themes and locations involved, You are assisting Sherlock (call me Shirley!) Holmes to solve and crime and of course find out whodunnit and why. The avatar is fun and engaging and is great at very sneakily pointing you in the right direction. The venue is a vast area, with lots of differnetly themed and deconracted sections from an office for Holmes  to the rainforest and the artic! With all that area you could cover you won't get everywhere, which is a shame as we'd have loved to see more of the venue, but hopefully we shall see that in their next game.

The game is 90 minutes and you need every second. You have a huge amount of information to process, so bring a decent sized team and all have a coffee beforehand! Luckily you have an inventory helper to add infromation and to help steer you in the right direction. Plus if a fast and frantic murder mystery isn't enough for you there are also some side puzzles and missions that where you can gain bonus points, If you love mutlitasking and data processing/puzzle solving then this is the game for you. Its a real rollercoaster game, and a must play.

A Study In Intrigue can’t be separated from the venue in which it’s located. Some game designs can easily be copied or transplanted from one building to another, but this one isn’t a room as such - it takes place in, and throughout, the much larger space of the Museum. I believe under normal times the Museum plays host to multiple different live games taking place simultaneously, in a shared space not sealed into different rooms.

At the outset this game appears fairly conventional, with an avat...

Having looked at the Museum of Intrigues website before the game I did wonder what we’d be playing as there seemed to be a vast game area with so many different themes installed in one area. Couple that with the short story of our game and I was most definitely intrigued.
We solved the murder mystery with a perfect score of 100! Go team! The storyline was very well written and we liked the various characters that played into the game. There were alibis we had to go through and different character paths we had to take. The puzzles were non linear but because the avatar has to be at a certain location to discover clues, it was difficult to have him/her run back and forth to solve puzzles in an non linear way. I would suggest just sticking together as a team. This is what you'll experience when you play the real life experience at the Museum of Intrigue. We were glad to be able to enjoy an online translation of their experiences. If the inventory system could be improved to sync better with real time removal of items used and the camera quality and control could be clearer, this would a really solid game. We would probably categorize this more towards immersive theater or murder mystery than an escape game. It would be fun to see if they would be able to implement live actors or prerecorded videos to make this experience even more immersive. But for now, I wish you the best of luck with your team on solving this murder mystery!
