Atherton, Mar 2024
The venue at Atherton, previously independent and now part of Adrenaline Escape, is in a building that also offers a shooting range and dance school, though everything was dead on a Monday morning; our host had come in specially for us.
Two of the five games here have serial killer style stories; Missing is the ‘creepy cabin’ variant. In any case, it’s not particularly scary or immersive, with decor intended to set the scene not make you afraid for your lives.
The visual impression set my expectations fairly low, and from that starting point I was pleasantly surprised, in that this is an old fashioned but solid puzzle game. Experienced players won’t find a whole lot they haven’t seen before, and our group of four rattled through it in under half an hour, but a good time was had by all.
