XscapeNow’s train game is a Wild West theme, and of course the train you’re on is heading towards a collision that only you can prevent.
This is a room that looks good from the outset and maintains that impression throughout. The train setting gives the game a natural structure, with a clear progression from beginning to end.
A Western setting is a theme well suited to escape room design, with distinctive motifs and style of decor, as well as obvious starting points for puzzles. Putting it on a train works even better, and Runaway Train makes enthusiastic use of the tropes of the setting, revelling in the Western theme.
There are plenty of rooms to choose from at XscapeNow, and they’re of a consistent enough standard that I’d expect people to disagree on which is strongest. For me personally, Runaway Train was my favourite. That’s thanks to smart puzzles wrapped up in fun theming that lets you unleash your inner cowboy. If your tastes are different you might prefer one of their others, but even so you’d still struggle not to have a good time in this room.
