We really enjoyed this one, although it did run quite long at around 90 minutes.   It could be done in two parts, there is so much to it.  We enjoyed their previous game and this one has been done even better.  You do have to explore a very large space with lots of areas, so there is a lot of navigating top be done, but the puzzles and story were both satisfying.

I really liked the ambient sounds and sound effects.

Would recommend.

In the early days of the pandemic, Crime Runners were one of the first companies to release a fully digital escape game; and while there are now plenty of games that share its point-n-click style of gameplay, at that time it was quite unusual. Beneath Vienna is a direct sequel, using the same platform and play style and continuing the story from where the other left off. You don’t need to have played the first to dive into this one, though for the full back story you’d need to have played the ve...

This felt like a nice continuation of the story that we enjoyed in Crime Runner’s first online game. With clever puzzles and a well delivered narrative, we enjoyed our time in the sewer.
Beneath Vienna is not a game where you would have to play the first chapter to get an enjoyable experience (though it will help with the storyline). The graphics and visuals during the game are very well put together and it is understandable what room is what. The movement between the rooms can be slow as one has to wait for the audio cue to finish. Completing the four remaining chapters in this game all adds to the story and builds upon previous knowledge. Make sure when playing this game you have a pen and paper available. There is a lot of information that you might want to write down and it will make solving all puzzles a lot easier. This is a very well put together game (you can tell when an entire 10 month is put in to the production) that players will be quite happy to experience. Playing as a solo player, or making sure only one player has controls is my favorite way to experience this story and you won’t regret playing this game! Although there are no more cliffhangers or digital game continuation left after this game, you might want to visit Crime Runners if you are ever in Vienna as they do have an in-person escape room that will give you the ultimate conclusion to this story!
