Mystery City Amsterdam:

Looking for a gentle, historical game for two, we booked this through Sherlocked and - as it turns out - felt like we uncovered quite the gem.
We've done quite a few outdoor games that follow a trail of clues round the city and most of them involve a smartphone: they are always fun and give us an insight into a new city, which is the primary appeal. For Mystery City, however, you can do away with the phone and just immerse yourself in the history of somewhere for an hour or two.
We picked up a bag at the HQ (from a delightful GM who spoke excellent English and who explained our quest to us); the bag was full of kitsch vintage tins (as befitting our WW2 themed quest) that were padlocked and the tins were accompanied with a journal to help us on our way.
The quest required us to use a wide variety of landmarks around the old Jewish quarter, coupled with the absolutely lovely resources and clues in our bag. Not only did we get to explore a wonderful part of Amsterdam that we had not seen before but everything in our quest was absolutely rooted in real local history. The puzzles were gorgeous and multi-layered at times but were never off-kilter or ambiguous.
This is just what a city trail/outdoor escape quest should look like: made with care, rooted in history and full of delightful puzzles... And we even got a metal pin at the end as our reward for solving the mystery.

We didn't find this enjoyable, it is completely unlike other online escape games we have played and unfortunately was not what we was expecting.

Good game would be good to do as a family as children could definitely do parts of the puzzles. Some simple puzzles but was only difficulty 2 so to be expected.

Even now, after a drink, a game of pool in the ultra-funky lobby area of Mama Bazooka, a video replay of our game highlights (do I really look/sound like that?!), the drive back to our campsite and a full-on debrief with the other half of the team, I'm still a bit stumped as to what I was just a part of.We got out in time... but were we successful? Did I do puzzles? Did I run around like a headless chicken? Did we even just do an escape room?! The Dome defies convention, logic and, at times, time and space. Now that I look back on it, I can see the links, the threads of thought, the flow of the gameplay but in the game, I was a bewildered rabbit in the glaring headlights of The Dome, subject only to the whims of Mama Bazooka and the relentlessly bonkers imagination of whoever dreamed up the whole concept.
It's genius, really, and truly is one of those 'just go and play it' games where you need to embrace the lunacy and throw yourself into every moment because - as with anything truly enjoyable - it will be over before you know it and you'll be wishing you could go back to the beginning to play it again.

Beautifully themed room let down by simplistic puzzles although this may be a product of the family-friendly nature of the room. Worth ticking off if you happen to be in the area.
