You have arrived at the apartment of your friend, Richie Walsh, who you have not heard from for several days. He has always been interested in extra-terrestrial activity and the like, but upon arriving it is clear that things have gotten out of hand. As you explore his flat, you learn the extent of the vast and insidious conspiracy, and Walsh’s inadvertent involvement in it. It becomes apparent that he has been abducted by someone, aliens or otherwise - who seek to whisk away anyone who knows of their existence - including you!

ziemlich leicht

Fastest personal time, and fastest time (so far) for this room! Really enjoyed it, I was super excited to find out what escape reality can do when allowed to build their own rooms, and it doesn’t disappoint! A lot of fun stuff, lovely theming and well fitted puzzles.

Goof game, just a little difficult to get started. Non linear but no clear path as to where to go.

familienfreundlich

I played all the other games at Escape Reality Glasgow within their first year of opening and had problems with all of them, from tech fails to the god-awful tablet hint system (which was then the only way to get hints, now its an optional method). So I've got to admit I didn't have very high expectations for their new room, but the fact that its been designed and built by the staff intrigued me.

The room is based on you looking into the disappearance of your weird friend, they guy who shares conspiracy theories on your social media and who thinks hes Fox Mulder (from X-Files). The brief was basically the above and to find out what happened to him...

We were given our tablet timer/hint system (sigh...) and we entered the room. Here I've got to admit I was surprised... in a good way. It was so much better than I expected (now, I have to clarify that I wasn't expecting much, but it was a decent production of a conspiracy theorists room). The puzzles were easily identifiable and there was clear signposing, so clear that at one point we skipped a stage, but that didn't detract from the flow at all.
Puzzles are nicely themed, although theres nothing really that was startlingly innovative they were good solid puzzles. If you're looking for an in depth narrative then you're out of luck, but you do get the story progression thoughout the room.

All in all I was quite impressed with the staff at Glasgow, they'd made a room and it works, in fact its my favourite room of the ones I've played there. I was so impressed that I repeatedly suggested that they're let loose on that Jungala room next to improve that (they tell me that its been improved since I played it, but I'm not brave enough to put myself through that torture again just to find out!).
Hopefully 'the powers that be' at Escape Reality will let them create another room soon.
