The Lost Temple from CU Adventures is still one of our favorite play-at-home escape rooms! It's a combo of print-and-play and an online component (fully contained; no Googling needed), but they also have an option to have them mail you a copy if you don't have a printer (or if you want a deluxe version). They do a great job of setting the ambience for this creepy archaeology-themed game, the online interface works super well, and there are a variety of fun and clever puzzles. Starting at just $10 per team for upwards of 2 hours of play, it's a steal! (They say 1-2 hrs...I guess we're slow!)

This game has been my favorite of the non-avatar remote games I've done. They did an excellent job of setting the scene with the online interface, including audio, animations, and the images. There is a bit of cutting, but the paper puzzles complement the online system nicely, and there were some fun puzzles. They utilize the paper nature to have you construct a bit of a souvenir by the end, which is very cute. The supernatural/archaeologist theme is not one I'm naturally drawn to, but they pulled it off very well. We took ~3 hours spread over 3 nights (including cutting). Overall, fantastic value for a super smooth experience with varied, enjoyable puzzles and nice immersion.

I took way too long to get around to trying Lost Temple. That was partly because it had a longish expected game time, and partly because it needed some components printed in advance - although there is a printless version provided, I was always going to play it in the recommended format. As it turns out, I should have made more of an effort to play it sooner - it’s among the very best home games I’ve tried.

The Lovecraftian plot is set in the 1930s and has you start your investigation in the of...

This game instantly goes in as one of our favourite print and play games. The interface was the real star of the show, but it was backed up by a great story and strong puzzles. We have no problems recommending this game to anyone, and chances are we will recommend it to everyone!

Although we eventually escaped, there were pieces of our memories that "the lost temple" entrapped forever. We can't wait to see where CU adventure takes us on their next journey!

Overall yes, it was pretty good fun! Once again the CU Adventures team have made something unique at an incredible price point (seriously, I’d spend the equivalent of $10 USD on a sandwich here in London, UK so I’d much rather play this any day). I hope that post pandemic they continue to make play-at-home escape room adventures.
